I have also ordered a set. I don't think Win knew what he was getting into!

I've also ordered a set. When I contacted Win on Mar. 10th he told me he had had 8 orders in just the previous 2 days and the lead time was going to be 6 weeks.

I just checked my set and it can easily accept a lacrosse ball as a final load but not the baseball I have around. The baseball I have is of dubious regulation size so who knows.

I was just notified that my cups are finished. Two weeks earlier than he said when I ordered them. How often do we see that these days? I also noticed that Bills are there waiting for him too, so Win is making his way through the orders.

Thanks! I need to check that out.

=================================

I hadn't heard anything from Win, which doesn't surprise me, because I have been flooded with spam lately, and I may have missed his e-mail. At least they had not been up for very long, just four hours.

I'll pick up a tennis ball and give it a try.

Glad Win is starting to get these out to you guys. He has some other really nice sconces and candle holders I may pickup next time I place an order.

Not many tinsmiths around these days.

My cups are ready! Just paid for them and can't wait to see them up close.

I ordered my set with the antique finish and I am really pleased with how they look.

Is there a coat someone could reommed to prevent rust or tarnish? They look beauiful!

"Tin" is a sheet of steel that has a coating of tin on it. If the tin doesn't wear off, it usually won't tarnish.

Another question:

In the period (19th century I believe) these cups were popularly used, what did they use as standard and final loads?
