Here is the demo:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWtzusoQ2P0 Filmed entirely in HIGH DEFINITION, there are numerous completely different effects contained in this DVD! We have left nothing out! You get the deck (A Bicycle Backed deck from the USPCC), you get a marker and COMPLETE visual instructions and example street performances! This deck is unlike any other deck on the market! The Magic Apple is the ONLY place right now to get this BRAND NEW DVD and Deck. http://www.TheMagicApple.com or click our banner on the main page! |

The demo looks pretty cool, but I'm wondering if you can use the same deck to perform several of the effects. It appears once you mark the deck you are limited to that one trick unless you buy a new deck and set it up appropriately. Is this the case?

Looks like a very cool concept. Definitely got my attention. Will be calling the Magic Apple first thing in the morning. Very handy having them right down the street! |

Seems a little bit like an invisible deck. Count the cards seen in the demo video at 2:43...

I think that this looks very cool in concept but fairly obvious to magicians. I think by buying the dvd you are getting more ideas that you might not have thought of with this pretty well known principle.

This is not meant as an insult but were some parts of the demo supposed to be funny?

I agree with big smile that the spread was a tell to a magician.
I just received the spam..err I mean PM from SB and I am failing to see what is so new about this? I would assume for the price there is more to this. R&S it seems to be and not sure why you can not do the same with what is currently out there. I dislike these poorly directed product demos that take almost 2 minutes before actually having a demo. These are instructional videos. Do I really need to see slow motion camera angles of lone men standing against buildings, shooting cards at the camera, standing in fields or deserts in sunglasses for the only reason to try to look cool and arty but never advance the story? Yes even a demo video tells a story and I just think the many videos that seem to do this style just do not product test their vision and edit to sell their message rather than to try to look cool. Gee give someone an HD camera and iMovie and they think they are a master film maker. Really allot of these videos out there need to study film since scenes that do not enhance the plot and create distractions are not good for the view. An example would be if he showed us why he was standing in that mess. I say it is fine to be arty but put some thought in it and even I this demo, at least show why you are standing in rubble with your case and clean close up mat. They should take notes that they are not Indy films but instructional magic videos. Sometimes less is more. The actual demo in the torn down building was so distracting. Maybe on the video we see he was showing this to some workers but if not I am not sure why he choose that distracting location. On the back cover of what appears to be the DVD case, seen at Steven's there is a telling statement. "The DarkSIDE deck is a revolutionary re-imaging of a diabolical old principle. " Oddly on all the web copy you do not see this statement. Coupled with a statement from their web site "This deck is unlike any other deck on the market!", I can make some assumptions. First off it could be a twist on a R&S deck. Is "revolutionary" a puffing term? It depends what the deck actually is. "re-imaging" and "..unlike any other deck on the market.." - Well sure, if it was just a R&S it would true since it seems you get to make up your own themed deck. So yes, even if you copied his ideas your artistic skills would make your deck one of a kind. Every deck will be special since you are the artist. If this is the case, those who do not know how to read magic ads will think this deck is new. The demo states no memorization which you would have with some R&S decks. So I would like to know if the seller really selling some ROUTINES or if the deck is truly revolutionary. It is one thing to sell a better designed R&S deck with some nice routines but it would be misleading if really the DVD is focused on routine ideas for products out there already. Being the Café, all seems to get revealed in time. |

The bullet deck idea is pretty neat. If you PM me I'll share a nice method to shoot up the deck safely.

I think 35 bucks is way too ambitious a price for what should be routines free in Genii.
Like a few people said, the method is super obvious to a magician. Great routine ideas but for half the price maybe. |

.... yet another special deck to carry around.
Although I love (and produce) trick decks - I carry 1 single deck with me when performing. Nearly ungimmicked ;-)

Meh..
Not sure about this one. Might be high for what you get. Maybe your buying a proven routine with multiple thought out and documented patters?? I would like to see more of the other story lines. Nice video not bad.. I would liek to see the other story lines he was doing. |

By the looks of it, Lucas needs the money from the sale of this DVD to renovate his house
The principle might be obvious to "those in the know", but I do quite like the sound of some of the presentational hooks (not enough to buy it though). Marty |

Was it me or when the cards were spread on the table, it was obvious how it was done by the number of cards you could see that were supposed to be in a 'full deck'. I know I am looking at this from a magicians perspective but I honestly think lay people would notice it as well??? Not that they know what a r/s deck it but the number of cards in a deck of cards.
Perhaps just me. |

Just to be clear, I still haven't written off this project as I like R/S deck work and this looks like it has some pretty interesting ideas.

Hmm, I like the Magic Apple and the guys there, but with a complete free choice - really free choice - you can do this with other products already out there for more than half a year.
