If the FBI profiled me, listmaker would definitely
be on there somewhere. I keep all sorts of lists,
journals etc. And one thing I've noticed I tend to
write down (or type) are all sorts of truths and myths
about moves, effects, people, props etc that I come
across. I usually delete them eventually because they
are unorganized clutter, but they really can be fascinating.

The sorts of things Im refering to are things such as
a mythic 3.5 second card cull, Chris Kenner's
legendary 3rd coin vanish in his 3 Fly plot, and of
course most card guys like to speculate about the
enigmatic legend, Erdnase!

These are becomming somewhat common things talked about
in the community, but I'm sure there are some lesser
known Myths, Legends and Lore that are out there, so
I thought it would be fun to read about some you might
have seen or heard of. It doesn't have to be factual,
just something to entertain the question, What if?

On your topic of myths in magic, what about the "Perpetual Motion Coin" Myth that Paul Harris writes about in AoA? You hold one US Half-dollar vertically between to horizontal Half-dollars. The idea is to get the vertical Half-dollar spinning, and keep it spinning for as long as you can.

Oh yes that is a good one... and I recall someone on
this Café mentioning that they actually made it work
for a while once...

I also like the diminishing marble idea (forget the
name, book is in the other room) in the AoA series...
