Hi there FCM family
normally I would like to think that I am a creative guy however I cant seem to rack my brain to come up with a magic idea for this one Virtue: Courage—being brave enough to do what you should do even when you’re afraid. Bible Story: Stand by Me (Esther helps the Jews) • Esther 4; 5:1-8; 7:1-6; 8:3-8 any thoughts to help jump start my thinking would be greatly appreciated sam

Barry Mitchell's "The Mother of all Diamonds" effect comes to mind. God uses even our simple acts of faithfulness, "lumps of coal" as it where as how she acted, to result in great diamonds of reward/results for the Jews.

I have used Abbotts Disecto with the volunteer holding the Bible giving the lesson that you can trust in God and His Word in any situation He leads you through.
Tell me and I forget. Show me and I remember. Involve me and I understand!

How about torn & restored newspaper. Talk about how it can be dangerous, even scary. Start tearing it up as you relate the story or the point you make it. When you restore it, I would suggest having possibly a piece or 2 missing so that you can remark that sometimes being faithful doesn't come without cost, but for those who are faithful, they know that God walks with them. Just a thought off the top of my head if you are looking for something without having to get anything special.
Mike
The magic is not in our sleights and illusions, but instead in our ability to bring love and joy.

I like Barry Mitchell's Casey the Kangaroo, and being brave against the "head thumpin' monkeys". However, this could be a problem if you need something by Sunday and don't own this one. Another one of his that comes to mind is Moo Masher, and being brave enough to allow someone to "pour" milk on someone's head...
I have a routine that is non-magical, but is longer to type than most will want to read. Feel free to PM if you would like me to know more. It involves a volunteer being blindfolded and going on an "airplane" ride (standing on a board held by two other volunteers). No one gets hurt, but the person blindfolded does get scared. Doug |

Could use the rat trap routine. Easy to get one at a hardware store.

Well the date changed to april 3rd so got more time
I was thinking of using rope thru body and tlaking about how the kid has to have courage to trust me that I know what I am doing. just as many times God will lead us and although we don't know what he is doing and what is around the corner we need to have courage and trust him as he leads us thanks for your help. if you have any oth er ideas please do share

The rope through body is a great idea Sam for sure. Probably better than having the "courage" to do the spiked cup effect (the one I use has an egg cup instead- still the same drama- but not the potential for a later hospital visit with a hand surgeon).
