That dumb monkey is so cool. I start making the alien hat thing and that is all they want.

I know of at least one twister who has a "no repeat" policy, so that he doesn't get stuck in this rut. I've found that I can usually talk the kids into something else. I tell them that I can make the alien, or whatever is popular that day, but I can make something different, and that they will be the first to get one! Of course you have to pick your battles. I did a gig this past weekend, and it was a Star Wars themed birthday party for a five year old boy. The party was mostly five year old boys, and they all wanted light sabers. I didn't try and talk them out of 'em. It was not as much fun for me, but the boys enjoyed the light saber battles and that was what was important.

Monkeys real or balloons are popular period.
I do like the no repeat idea. Usually if I make a rainbow hat or something they will ask for other stuff. Is there a dvd with the pirate hat with a skull on it anywhere? |

I usually make Mark Byrne's pirate hat from his Bad to the Balloon vol. 1 DVD. It is quick and easy, and I get a good response from it. I remember once I made this and a pirate sword for a little boy. He paraded around and all of the adults complimented him. He basked in all of his glory. It was an awesome sight.
