Hi, Rus, as you can see yourself, there is already a thread here about SCORCHED THOUGHT. But, I read at first about your coming (soon, I hope…) project in a thread in PENNY FOR YOUR THOUGHTS (the thread, by the way, is this: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?topic=413059&forum=15&2). Also, fvdbeek, I agree with you that there is the possibility of dropping some card(s) down as they are taken out of the box, but I also agree with Rus about the relaxed nature of the effect, “hence the spectator normally take their time”. Furthermore, maybe it¢s not a bad idea to call the attention of the spectator to be careful with the prearranging deck, saying that “the cards are set-up in a specific order, so watch over not to change their order…” At the very end, if happens this "accident", the weight of the failure will be on the spectator and not on our presentation!!!

I have seen your video demo and I realized that it looks like this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIWDlq7B0BQ The Grail by Mike Rose. Can you explain what are the differences with this one. (_Louis Cipher_) |

They are both CAAN that is why they look alike from spectator´s POV.
Numbers uses a completely different method, it is completely hands-off and self-working The Grail is not. Send me a PM if you have more questions I am happy to help.

Ops!! I made a mistake, it looks like a variant of this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8riMkHRJntc The difference is just the performer names from himself a card removing the first E********* part, but it is the same method. (_Louis Cipher_) |

Hi
I discussed this with Jamie Allen who is the creator of WTF, my handling is different as numbers is a CAAN/open prediction hybrid. Which also allows more choice of numbers and is completely hands off. WTF is a great effect and Jamie Allen is a great thinker with a great effect that got me thinking. Also the 2 deck variation came from an idea of max mavens that is performed by 2 spectators. Most of these effects share similarities, including the Grail by mike Rose who I also discussed this with, the Grail also is an amazing effect. All te best R |

Louis, do a search here for WTF. I remember a topic about it. Reactions were not that positive. What you saw in the demo was the best scenario possible.

I created this so that no matter what you always got a maximum impact finish that seemed impossible.
My goal was to create something along side mike roses Grail effect! And so numbers was born. I am currently working on a sequel to this ebook which has some amazing contributions. It's an exciting project. R |

Let me second what Rus has said---the impact at the end is always the maximum effect. There is no "best scenario" possible.

Is it always the best scenario possible?? I don't believe... I see a big restriction on the number selection as WTF ACAAN
and the same method used in WTF ACAAN to find predicted card at named number. WTF ACAAN uses a regular deck and we can say the same about the Numbers??? I have seen many negatives post on WTF ACAAN and now it is unbelievable to see that someone uses the same idea and now the effect is amazing... It is very easy demostrate that there are many other scenarios inside the video and I can show it using his video demo and without reveal anything about the secret. The predicted card is in position 34, the magician doesn't touch ever the deck. If you say that this is the only possible scenario, what would be happened if the spectator would have named 32 or 35??? Ehehe.. I guess there are 2 other different solutions and then there are multiple scenarios and that you see inside the video is the best one. (_Louis Cipher_) |

I have found many people here at the Café discusing the method of a product they don´t own.
They don´t own it but they discuss about it, and slowly fish for the correct method.

You obviously like the routine so why not dig deep and pay the very reasonable price of £9.99 and support a fellow magician!

I own the effect, and I am very happy with it.
I am also familiar with WTF by Jamie Allen which is also a great effect, there are diffrences in the method, as in Numbers does not use an E*******e which is a great. Also Numbers looks completely random, where as in WTF sometimes the E*******e is a bit transparent. As Rus has mentioned before this project was discussed with Jamie and he is credited in the notes so there are similarities, and I agree this is a hybrid of an CAAN/OPEN PREDICTION as Mark elsdon mentioned. Also the number choices in WTF ARE limited with regards to handling the deck.... Rus solved this problem in the notes which kept this completely hands off.. WTF is an ACAAN effect, Numbers is a CAAN/OPEN PREDICTION Also there are similarities to the grail by Mike Rose again another great effect but then this is a CAAN if you see what I'm getting at, in other words there will always be similarities in these types of effects. Personally I think Numbers is great, and I will continue to use it as ive been performing it loads with amazing reactions and for the price I payed for the method, I'm a happy customer. Just my opinion |

It is one of the best purchases I have EVER made. I have performed it now dozens of times---maximum impact everytime. This is an amazing effect and one that I will always perform. It hits the spectator right between the eyes for a knock out!

Thankyou for your comments guys, and thanks magical dimensions for the idea you sent me its GREAT.
I have a selection of contribution effects regarding Numbers that I am sifting through to put into a sequel ebook that I am currently writing up. Just wanted to say a big thankyou to all that have purchased this and supported my work. NUMBERS RE-RUN is coming soon. Just an idea for those that own numbers, an additonal idea for you, if you place 4 cards from a high poker hand and seal it into and envelope and hand to the spectator, then go through the normal numbers routine, but instead of having the prediction card on the table, theyre chosen number deals down to the one card that completes the poker hand they have held from the start! This plays really well when presented in a gambling situation. Just a thought All the best R |

Gave the poker idea a run for its money, and it works really well, expecially if the cards in the envelope are from a completely different deck!
great idea |

Glad it worked out for you, magical dimensions has sen me some awesome ideas.
The idea of using cards from another deck in the poker routine Makes this even stronger and weird. Using tarot cards for this in a psychic presentation works well. I had the chance to perform this version over the weekend. Very powerful as normally the spectators don't get to handle tarot cards in reading situations, I added as they dealt through the cards that they will choose thier own destiny. Great stuff R |
