Digital Dissolve is an excellent variation of Steve Dusheck outstanding copper silver transpo.

Absolutely, nice take on Dusheck's original Copper/Silver Transpo. Still have the one I got directly from Steve Dusheck himself and will always treasure the original genius of it.

I also own Steve's original Transpo. Any thoughts on if it is still worth purchasing Digital Dissolve. Is the updated handling much different?
Thanks for any input. |

I recently purchased Digital Dissolve and it is very much worth it. The furor over its initial release was apparently patched up and the DVD was edited to credit Steve Dusheck fully. Also the DVD includes Steve's original manuscript for the C/S Transpo so you get the handling performed by Dan White visually on the DVD and Steve's full routine written out in the PDF script, along with full color photos. The gimmick is top notch having been made by Schoolcraft and it is identical to Steve's original gaff; at least from what I understand since I don’t have the original.
Plus it is available for $44.95 from The Magic Warehouse so the price is right too. Thanks! Jim |

Some time ago there was a topic dealing with the issue of the gaff not being the best quality - not bad, but to the point one might need to be more careful than one would wish when showing it. Looks like things have gotten better, so that's great!
Following Steve Dusheck's intructions from his DVD, I made a Copper Silver Transpo, but wanted to have a gaff that would 'lock'. I used my belt sander to convert a standard sh**l into the proper gaff, but then searched around until I found a different color coin that was just snug enough to 'lock' into place.
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

Have you considered using a magnetic half instead of a locking [? Or would the magnetic half not be good for the specs to handle at the end? I have DD and am looking for a magnetic half to try it.

It isn't really critical mind you - but a little extra locking would be nice. Probably shouldn't discuss to much here though ya? For Chessman's comments - I think the gaff is beautiful and I am 99.9% satisfied with it - especially for the price point. At this price I am definitely planning to buy a 2nd as a back up. Try DD... you will like it!

I have a m***** half but it is lighter than normal. It's like a [ and insert with m***** inside. Are all of them like this? Need one with same weight as normal.

I bought a Johnson and I have every confidence that if like their other products the weight and ga*f will be "on the money."
Alan - are you using the half with Digital Dissolve?

The coins I use for Digital dissolve are a 64 Kennedy half and an Irish coin with a harp on it (Lassen). Smooth operating set with great coverage that I have used for over a year with no complaints.
I had not thought of upgrading to a m*****c set - until this thread. It should be a simple matter of adding sh** material to the Irish coin and using the Van Dokkum half. I may very well try it. If I understand correctly Dusheck himself added m*****s shortly after creating the slippery Sam. It adds a bit of risk if you allow the spec to handle the m******c coin, though. (if they are wearing certain type of jewelry) I'll have to think about it. It's amazing what I have learned or thought up while participating here. Alan |

Well enjoy your Lassen set and I will happily report back in a week when I get the Johnson half and see how it interacts and whether it turns out to be an improvement on near perfection The Schoolcraft coins already have the needed something to try this out.

I'm guessing you can adjust the sh*m and it can me moved but you would have to do some work.
