I have not read the content but the design is clean crisp
nice look the navigation needs to be redone as TEXT (you can use css to make it look the same) the search engines do not give value to image links and with your site that will hurt how much of it gets indexed by search engines (I know it is still in development so just a reminder) write good title tags and descriptions as these are your 1st line of sales copy
its ok.. balloon dogs don't bite

You've got some real nice ideas. Very unique, clean and organized look. My only concern would be its Search Engine visibility. But maybe your not looking for that.

I have to say I love the linked rings on the wedding page. The rest of the site looks great as well.

Make the lettering a little bigger. I was on your "media" page and clicked on the vid, was wondering why I got a commercial. Then as I looked closer I saw you were the magical consultant. That was hard to see.

On your resayrant page you forgot to finish spelling "customers". It reads as "custom". Sorry...I am a former journalist...hard to even read the newspaper without a red pen in my hand!

I wonder if some may get confused on the landing page as there is no "enter" button or word or what ever
now I know what to do and so far everyone that went looking new what to do BUT are common folks gonna know what to do or are they going to think that page is it. nothing more. just a thought over all I like it as well its very simple and easy the only thing I might add is some pics through out each page yes I saw the pics on the other page and many of them were similar but spread some out maybe. again over all its simple and easy have fun sam

Actually, when you're on the main page and push "home", it takes you back to the enter page. You might want to make the "about" page into the "home" page, because I don't think anyone will want to go back to the enter page for any reason.

Some website tips...
1. No landing page. There is no reason to have one because it serve no purpose. If you put google analytics into your site and look at how long people stay on that landing page then it won't be longer than 5 seconds because there is no purpose other than for it to "look nice" 2. You copy/text needs to sell. It needs to get inside the mind of your clients and have the same conversation they are having in their own head. They're not saying, "I wonder if he can subconsciously influence us and perform impossible tricks." They're saying to themselves, "I wonder if he can gather a crowd at our trade show booth." "I wonder if it will be funny." "I hope he can spice up our boring meeting." All of your text needs to come from their point of view. I recommend you learn about copywriting. You have to make it easy for people to read, use short sentences, simple words, and talk from their standpoint. 3. Social proof: Your website has little to no social proof. In your about page you say that you have perform for Coca-Cola, etc but it is at the very end. That is the most important part and needs to be at the beginning. People need to immediately see you as a credible performer within seconds of visiting your site. 4. Video: People have to see you perform and I'm sure you have noticed that 90% of your gigs come from someone who saw you. Include a demo video on the first page they see. If you don't have a demo then put up a testimonial video. The more footage you have, the easier it is for them to make a decision. 5. Restaurant page: Take it off your website. General Managers do not have the time to look at your website. And when they do, they are on and off within 60 seconds. The restaurant page does not add to your value. 6. Client Page: Include several testimonial videos of your clients. Social proof is an extremely effective persuasion tool and that is the purpose of testimonial videos. You have the logos of your clients on your client page but you need to put them on your home page so people feel your credibility. 7. Contact Page: Put "for availability...." Use those words instead of "Contact Details" because you want them in a certain frame of mind when contacting you. You want them to say, "Are you available for X date" rather than, "How much do you charge." There is a huge difference. And get rid of the 10% discount. It makes you look like you're not getting enough work so you have to offer a discount to entice people to call you. If you want...take a look at my website and notice the way the text is structured and the viewpoint of the text. Also notice that as soon as you land on my website you see the logos which instantly give credibility. My website is designed to increase perceived value and helps them by proving my "introduction" after they're hired me and even has a downloadable promo kit and contact. Also...pay attention to the About page on my website. It has some info about me but it is also written to increase value. that's my input for now |

A very slick site with a good look. A few things - I agree about the video - I thought the clip was out of place because it was an ad. I didn't immediately get the relevance. Your gallery featured a number of pictures that were very similar. Either reduce the number of pictures, or get greater variety. I wouldn't bother with the restaurant page, and I would put a video clip of you performing.
Apart from that, the look is great.

All good stuff. Great feedback, and that's what this thread is about. As I say the website is a work in progress. You guys have given me a lot to think about. I'll re shuffle a few things and repost for a second take. Thanks again to everyone who posted.

Lots of great feedback here. The thing to remember is that you've got the core of a potentially great site.
My own suggestion is to add your contact to each page of the site. I strongly believe that your email address and phone number should be on every page. Make it easy for your clients to contact you. |

I am not sure who your market is...but here are some thoughts:
1) "Psychological Illusionist" may leave some people confused. I think it's cool...but I am not so sure about the event planner hitting the page at 200 miles per hour. 2) I don't like the mixed typefaces...and the unbalanced looking pages...often heavy on the left and light on the right. Evening them out would make anal people like me happier. 3) Where's the SELL? I have the sense that you're holding back. You need to push me to do...something. 4) It makes you look very credible...very solid...I think your best graphic is on the page where you've linked rings. I get the sense of a charming guy who really likes what he does. 5) Your opening page doesn't do anything for me...only muddies up your message...in my opinion. 6) I am not sure I know what the actual purpose of the video is. What do you want me to do with the information? 7) You need to tell me earlier about all the clients you've worked with. You've buried it. I really like the site. Don't think I made that clear. You've got the basics of an outstanding web presence. BUT you need to use the site to sell me on contacting you...and you need to clarify your message -- which means you need to decide just what EXACTLY you want me to do. Hope this helps. David

1) There are pictures on every page apart from the restaurant page - they need adding.
2) Get rid of the splash 'home' page. Your wasting my time forcing me to go through it. 3) I hate the 10% discount for online quotes with words. Its cheap, tacky and says your willing to negotiate on price before they have even hear your prices. Its the kind of promotion restaurant run, but you are not a restaurant, your a professional entertainer. You don't use tacky ideas like this as it lets your image of a professional down. |
