Haha I will hopefully learn and keep learning. We all do!

Sounds like you already have enough to keep you busy for awhile, but I'll just reiterate what others have said about Eric Jones's work using the gaffs you already own. In my mind, there is no better coin effect than his Oxy Clean effect, which is taught on his An Extension of Me DVD set, along with Fire Coins and other routines that use your gaffs. The great thing is, the routines really aren't that hard to do, by coin magic standards, but they look phenomenal.

I will check it out, thanks a lot! As for now, I am going to be busy with this 4 DVD set for a while!

This is the best and wisest advice I've read on this thread. It doesn't matter a whit how many sleights, effects, routines you have read and "know"- that is completely irrelevant, and you haven't learned them. What matters is how perfected the few you REALLY know actually are.

The longer a person works in coin hand magic, the more one realizes that those sleights you think you do well can actually be performed and undterstood a great deal better.

The wise magician has good focus, and doesn't wildly thrash through every effect known to man looking for the perfect effect, what's new, what's popular that week.

Too much material is bad. Mastering a trick or sleight seems to be a lost art, and takes extreme patience and focus. The same goes for playing an instrument or any other art form. It's the foundations, the basics, that make a great coin magician, and we often lose sight of that in our quest to see all there is to see.

Very well said. I agree with you completely. I am just experimenting and practicing and seeing what I am good at. And again, I don't want to be a jack of all trades. I want to be a master of few haha! Thanks again and I will keep on practicing and perfecting my techniques as well as researching.

Thanks again!
