Hello colleagues,
I am looking for the best ring flight where the ring (or in my case a coin with a hole in the middle) appears on a necklace. Can anybody help me with my problem. Flight 204 seems not to be the best choice, neither Exit by Peter Eggink. Thank you for your help. Best, Chris
Christoph

Jay Sankey has a effect he uses with a key but it can be applied to coin with a hole in it I use this idea with a finger ring I call ring on the flying trapeeze

I believe the Jay Sankey effect Vinny is referring to is called leaving home, I wouldn't really classify that as a ring flight though, it is more of a ring off rope type effect.

My RemCut eBook has several effects where a ring object is removed from a necklace and then jumps back on.
But, it depends on what you mean by a "necklace" a string of pearls - no a tied cord with a geegaw on it - yes. I have used a ring, a cross, a bell, a key and a locket. Could be done with a gold chain. Start with necklace on neck with ring on. Remove and unfasten the chain -- remove the ring. Refasted the chain and return to neck. Later the ring vanishes and is found hanging on the necklace on your chest. Thanks for expanding my thinking. I'll have to add it to the eBook.

Show the chain around your neck to be void of any medal (the dupplicate is behind your neck and you can turn the chain around as you would with the key of a Chinese ring in a Linking Ring routine). After showing the chain around your neck to be void, as you replace the chain into your shirt, let the dupplicate slide down along the chain and into your shirt as well.
Vanish your coin that has a hole on it and very openly with both hands (one of them with your coin in Ramsay subtlety) pcik the chain on each side of your neck and stretch it which pulls the dupplicate up and into view.

Certainly a simpler appraoch than mine, Etienne -- as I attempt to show the chain free away from the body. From recent expereince I have learner that placing the ring/coin inside the shirt is not necessary. As you reach with one hand to retrieve the object from a spectator and execute the vanish, the other hand can cover the drop of the object on the chain to the bottom. It is not seen hanging there until you Direct Focus back to that spot since your hands are in motion elsewhere.
If you don't have the courage/confidence to do this, then have several objects on the necklace and only the ring/coin is removed. The duplicate falls next to the others on the chain and is not noticed until the proper moments. The "invisibility" of the object in plain sight is not different from Tommy Wonder and his third Ball.

@Vinny: Would be great Vinny...
@Lawrence: I cannot work with a duplicate...I need one specific coin to appear on the chain... @funsway: Do I have to "remove" the ring/coin/whatever first? Thanks a lot for your help! Best wishes, Christoph

I have been looking for this video for over a week to show you, and it will knock your socks off (American expression). If you want to learn how to do it you will have to ask Kate herself. Enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-zgEChgXWc

Most methods will require a duplicate or a split feke, both easily handled with a Utility Switch. However, there are ways to get a marked coin onto a tied cord.

I believe Alan Rorrison has released something along these lines.
Check his website alanrorrison.com, I think it's called As Brass. |

You are absolutely right...I purchased it on the release date and it is almost exactly, what I was looking for. Chris

I just saw an absolute killer version by David Regal. He's getting the DVD and packaging ready. This is the ultimate and so clever!

Werner Seitz never used a dupe just one ring still looking for his notes

You can use a coin with a hole in it with Regal's.

Hi Pete,
would you be so kind and tell me which DVD of Regal it is on and what the effect is called? Thanks a lot.

Perhaps I might be wrong, but there was an effect called Northbound that uses a borrowed ring and is a Ring to Necklace effect. Check Hocus Pocus or Elmwood.
