Anyone know the state of busking in Branson, Missouri? I'll be there for a week this summer and just wondered what's up there. Thanks.

Well, I wrote to the city clerk in Branson, Missouri asking her.
I'll let you know if I get a response.

Where were you thinking of busking in Branson? Most of the busy areas are along major roadways and wouldn't seem that conducive to busking to me. I know that The Landing has auditioned talent in the past, but as I'm rarely down there I don't know if they've ever actually hired anyone. If they did, it would be more of a paid gig and not really busking. I would suggest you contact Yak Williams at It's Magic in Branson. He would know a lot of the locals and might have more insight as to whether any of them are busking.

Now THERE was some good information from someone who really seems to know!
Haven't heard from the city clerk yet.

A few years ago Peter the Adequate would busk the landing. He would probably be your best source.
that magic is an art, and an art worth your learning. The question is rather, whether you be capable of learning it? Magic is somewhat like poetry, men are to be born so: I mean, with inclinations to it, though both may be heightened by discourse and prac

I didn't get to busk in Branson, but here's what I learned while there, thanks to a bit of help from Yak. The landing is place to busk. I was there on a HOT day with my family, and like I said, didn't work. But my understanding is that if you go the The Landing office, you can get a permit w/o too much hassle. I don't know what it costs, but I think it would be worth it. Even on a hot day, it was busy.
