I have a wonderful handcrafted chop-cup set (I believe by Martin Breeze in the UK.)

The cup was hewed from a thick tree branch with the bark still intact.
The “balls” are small slices of twigs, and the wand is a longer twig as well.
It also has the miniature cup for a variation that is a match to the larger one.

Does anyone else have the set, know if they are still made, and what they are going for on the C&B market? Things are fairly tight, I don’t sadly do that much close-up any longer, and though it’s a beautiful and collectable set, I may have to bite the bullet.

I’m sure Bill will know something about this (and maybe correct my source) but I thought I ask the general forum of guys.

Thanks!
Magically, Walt

Wow! I've never seen one of those. Maybe you could e-mail Martin and find out.

Hi Walt,

Sorry I can't help with the identification, but I'd love to be able to post a photo of your cup at The Magic Reference Site, which is a non-commercial website that has a section devoted to classic manipulative magic such as the Color Changing Knives, Cups & Balls, and of course, the Chop Cup. You can check out the meager Chop Cup article at: http://magicref.tripod.com/magref/artchop.htm

Thanks!

I saw this set the other night. Very charming and of very good quality. Post a pix, Walt!

It's hard to tell without seeing it but if it's not a Martin Breese cup, perhaps it is one of Don England's pieces?
