OK I signed up to the virts ages ago (www.thevirts.com) and recntly received this email. An awesome offer and in a good cause:-
The email is below "Hey, Here's the big announcement we were telling you about. I'll start with the sad news, then move on to the awesome news. The sad news. I'm sure you've heard about the earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan. Many people have lost their homes, their lives, and the damage will take years for Japan to recover from and cost them billions of dollars in the process. It's just heartbreaking. I remember the day I heard the news. It was the day before my birthday, and I think I plunged into a mild depression. The thought of me having fun on my birthday while people were dying and cities were being destroyed haunted me. I remember being at the gym, just sitting there and feeling really crappy, knowing that there was nothing much I could do as a single person. (I bet it was somebody's birthday in Japan when the disaster happened, and the thought of that really sucked.) Then, my phone started ringing. It was a friend and fellow Virt Insider from Boston, Max Lai. "Huron, I saw what happened to Japan. We have to do something about it. Do you have any ideas?" "Dude. What can we possibly do." "Can you do something with The Virt Insiders?" And then it struck me. We are the largest card flourish community in the world. How could we NOT do something about it?! I can't do much to help the disaster in Japan by myself, and the other two Virts and I are just three people. But together, as a community, we can help to save Japan. Then a crazy idea came to my mind. (Here's where the awesome news comes in.) What if we could raise funds for Japan, and give away a solid product as a token of appreciation to those who donate? Well, that's exactly what we're going to do. For a limited time, we will be giving you the Anaconda DVD as a gift if you make a small donation to Japan. Yes, that Anaconda DVD. The one that received rave reviews, was sold out incredibly quickly, and has since never been released again. If for some crazy reason you're not sure what the Anaconda is, you can watch the short 2 minute trailer on YouTube here. And here's even more awesome news. We're not just giving away the Anaconda DVD. We're also giving away The Eye Cut, and the Anaconda Original Soundtrack. Together, these products were sold at a total of $93. Very soon, you'll be getting all three of them as a gift from us to you. How's this going to work? We spent the last month putting everything together a fundraiser event. The event is going to start this Thursday. So if you're with us, stay tuned to your email inbox. You will receive an email from us this Thursday that gives you access to the event. Haha and just so you know… I ended up having a really awesome birthday. =) (Thank you Max.) Huron Low, The Virts" |
