Imagine spending $150 on a book only to find its available as a PDF for $15, ouch. I think I paid £50 for my copy of the complete works of Alex Elmsley, then years later seeing it for $20 on llepub.

Phil,
I exchanged a few mails with Francois who explained to me the 5th HC method. I came up with this choreography that combines a simplified HC sequence with Francois’s Ose Cut variation in which no pre-cut is necessary. Performed casually, the whole sequence is easy and deceiving. Drop sequence Hold the deck in a Dealing Grip. Imagine the positions A B C D on the table. Drop, from the bottom, a ¼ on C, a ¼ on B, a ¼ on D and the remaining cards on A. Pick-up sequence LH picks up B and drops it onto C. RH picks up D and drops it onto BC and then without hesitation drops DBC onto A, however slightly misaligned. Immediately the RH picks the whole pack up and places it in LH in a Dealing Grip. LH little finger secures a break between the packets. You’re now ready for the OC variation at any time. I think that two seemingly unconnected sequences will look better than stringing them together. But, if you prefer chaining both sequences, dropping two packets (instead of the usual 3 in an Ose Cut) seems to work well. If you keep all three packets slightly misaligned during the HC pick up sequence, the misalignment of the last packet will go unnoticed. |

Here's a simple deceptive triple cut I learned years ago from a Harry Blackstone book. I think it's more deceptive than the Ose cut.
Deck in left hand; imagine positions ABC from left to right on the table. Right hand grabs deck from above, and in rapid succession, leaves a third from the bottom of the deck at A, next bottom third at C, final third at B. Right hand places cards at C on A, then cards at B on A. Deck is back in order.
