Hey guys I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right section so my apologize to the mods.

Has anyone been having problems with Hank Lee's. I had put in a order last month that still has not arrived yet. I been sending emails through their aol address and they are being read without them responding back. No we will look into it, give it a few more days then contact us back etc. I tried calling and all I get is an answering machine.

Am I the only one having bad luck with them?

Hi Mike:

I would avoid Hank Lee if possible. I never received part of my order, had the same communication problems, and is still not resolved.

I'm sorry to hear you also have problems with them Jim. I will for the future. I have already file a claim with paypal. Hopefully this will get resolved. I asked here not to bash them or single them out but I just need to see if others had a similar problem or I'm just being impatient or I'm just having some bad luck.

It's a shame because I have been told they were a solid place to deal with by a few.

I've used them a few times and never had problems. But that's just my experience, and it's been over a year since I last used them.

They may be struggling now against the internet competition. Fact of the matter is that, unless they had a good sale on, I haven't found their prices to be very competitive.

They are old line, but can be slow.
Worth a try is the magic trick shop, madhatter magic, penguin magic as well as many specialty shops that you'll learn about at The Magic Café

As far as online goes, I have really been impressed by Nexus Magic's business ethic. See the site here:

http://www.nexusmagicstore.com/

Jason and I have been in communication before, and he is a really honest and upright guy, trying to do right by his customers. I have not heard anything but good things. I have surfed his site, and the variety of stuff is staggering! If you have any questions, be sure and contact him! He will guide you and help you decide which effect is best for what you are doing. I have not done business with him yet, but plan on it, once I get back in my feet again!

In the past, I have had very good luck with Penguin and Ellusionist. I really like those guys and will keep them at the top of my list for prices, and speedy shipping. They have taken care of me in the most amazing ways, and I also highly recommend them! I have nothing bad to say about Hank Lee. Unfortunately, he has tremendous competition now, and he just cannot compete! Sad but true!

Be careful of madhatter. They have good prices, but they also sell a lot of knockoffs.

MJM is great, one fo my favorites atm.

Does anyone have a bead on "Magic trick shop" I note that they sell through Amazon and often have very good prices.....

I've bought several items from Magic Trick Shop and was very satisfied. I ordered some spring flowers, and was sent the wrong ones - at least I thought they were the wrong ones. They sent a new order of spring flowers at no charge, and let me keep the previous ones I received. I was VERY happy with the service.

I usually deal with my local magic shops Tannens and Fantasma. Online shops I deal with penguin and a few others. I wanted to try Hank's but it looks like I just gotten the short straw

I recently used Hank Lee and got my products within reasonable time. It was the product
that I received that was questionable or defective otherwise I received the products
and had no problems.

@Cyberqat, I've used the Magic Warehouse a couple times myself and they seem ok.

At Tannens and Fantasma, I sometimes can find decent prices but generally use them
when I want something immediately (cause I'm in area everyday) as apposed waiting
for something to be delivered. Plus, it is nice to go in there once and while
and talk and see magic...

Magic Warehouse if my current favorite, and has been for a quite some time now.
Good prices, very fast delivery, fair shipping rates. And best of all, all this with no silly memberships or goofy hoops to jump through.
Plus, they really strive for customer satisfaction if there is an issue.
After much soul searching about a signature, I decided not to have one.

Update: Finally had communications with Hank. Problem is being solved. Apparently they had said item in stock but not at the quantity I ordered so subs were made. Now just waiting for the package.

I shop with quite a few online shops. Im that I like to spread the business type guy. I love Penguin, Magic WareHouse, MJM and a few others. In terms of online Penguin

I mostly shop at Tannens. I been spending so much there that the guys allow me to review the products before I buy and talk and share stuff. Fantasma is great. Magick Balay and David Roth are awsome. Been dying to stop by when Harry Loryane and Simon Lovell is there.

Independent online my fav to deal with is Byron Walker. Just a joy to do business with.

I ordered some pip transfers a while back from Hank so I could make some gaffs. They were really poor quality, not convincing at all they ended up looking pink and gray rather than red and black. In all fairness I was able to get through to someone right away and offered a full refund. But why would you sell such a substandard product in the first place.

Magic Warehouse will sell cheap knockoffs not on everything but a few items so be careful and support the artist who create ..... or they won't be able to afford to create
