The old Fab Fruit, I mean like 10 years ago, maybe more....was VERY realistic. The lemon ACTUALLY smelled like a lemon. The potato and tomato, smelled like a rubber potato and tomato.

I think Ammar used to spray the lemons with a little bit of lemon extract or lemon oil.

Don't try this at home. It may not be good for the rubber lemons.

Hi guys. I have the new fruit, purchased about 6 months ago. I understand the old style tomato had a removable stalk. Does anyone know if the new style tomato shares this feature ? I tried peeling a part of it to see but the part of the tomato under the bit I peeled looked a slightly different colour.
If the stalk is removable, is there a certain procedure I should follow for removal ?
thanks, jim

Can I try it in someone else's home?

Your best bet would be to e-mail Hannah Ammar. She is Michael's wife, and she would know the answer. I don't believe the stalk was removable on the old fruit unless you cut it away.

Bill, embarrassingly I didn't realise he still stayed in Ayr. For some reason I thought he moved away years ago. Ive never met him. Now that I know hes still here I may just introduce myself.

He was there about 2 years ago. He may have moved, but when he sent me those balls that John Ramsay had carved, along with JR's last practice set, the address was from Ayr.
