Hi,
any interest in soft sided cases similar to what Selberg was selling? In discussion with a company that will make a 24" x 12" x 9" case with 1" foam on all sides for $125.00 + shipping. Have to order 15 cases to get this price. Any interest contact me at donald@woodynfriends.com for further information. |

Can the outside of the case have the ability to attach a name similar to what Mark Wade's case has? depending on the ID measurment, If I can match all this I would be very interested in purchasing the case |

So, while we're on the subject of cases, I came across a small Rhino trunk that looks very cool. It's heavy (14 pounds), but I wouldn't be doing any serious traveling with it, outside of the car. I would only use it for stage and storage. At this point, I'd only use it for a soft puppet I'm currently having made. I'd get the black one and have an artist friend of mine paint my character's name on it in stylized lettering.
That said, I am interested in hearing pros and cons regarding it from you fine folk. |

Keith - I found this picture - the case in this picture is very similar to the cases I've bought (except mine don't have a recessed handle - and when I do mine, I'm going to line them with material over the foam);

That's a beautiful case. Thanks for the pic! May I ask from where do you buy them?
I neglected to add the link to my post above about the Rhino trunk I'm thinking about buying. Here it is: http://www.trunkoutlet.com/categories/3-......ck-trunk Again, I'm thinking of the black one. I welcome feedback! |

I've been getting them locally.
It looks like that Rhino case, comparing the dimensions to the Maher cases, for a hard figure would only maybe fit a 33" figure or smaller. It would be nice if they had a center handle too.

Is the case size 24" x 12" x 9" ID, or OD? - OD
Does the foam have a nylon covering glued to the foam to prevent crumbling? - No Does the case come with an extra padding surounding the head as a schock protector? - No, easily made Can the outside of the case have the ability to attach a name similar to what Mark Wade's case has? - Should be able to attach some Velcro and do that. |

Dear MAPS... Great thinking. Vent Cases "can" double as tables. You can even have a nice red (or black) crushed panne fabric type velvety table-cloth or other fabric to cover the "table" and velcro your name/sign on the front.

Clinton's cases arrived today. They're VERY lightweight and very strong. I'm impressed. I'm not sure just yet how to handle the extra piece which is apparently for protecting the figures' heads. May have to ask Clinton for more info.

Hi Philip... I leave that extra cushion piece (covered in a black smooth fabric) at the bottom of the case then when I place my figure into the case I make sure to lay the figure's face onto it, As I do this, the soft cushion automatically wraps partially around the head and really ensures that the face is protected nicely, so that it will not get scuffed up by the inner-sponge.
Hope this helps. Jonathan

I agree, it would be nice with center handle. But, it's not a deal breaker for me. By the way, how important do you all think it is to pad/line a case for a soft puppet? |

I only have a couple of soft figures that I have in cases, but I didn't worry padding and lining, not like they need protection from a hard impact against the case. As long as it's clean inside, a soft figure is safe without the padding I think.

Good point. Or you could use the soft figures to pad the cases for the hard figures.

Hay Folks Here is a link for the case company I use, here in New York city.
They do the bulk of there business on line so they do ship. I use the smallest telescope case. There is no Padding but you could add your own. I fly with mine to the Convention but It could be used if you wanted to bring a few figures to a show. Just another idea, here is the link.... http://www.travelautobag.com/p08-sample-cases.htm Jimmy
