Hello all, I recently upgraded to the smoke mountain pizza oven from my old pizza oven. HUGE difference, amazing!
I am currently working on a routine that I believe would go great with my new pizza oven. The reason for this post is to see what makes SM Pizza Oven so great?, what is your favorite routine to use with the pizza oven? do you make the second pizza appear somewhere else? or do you just let the trick end when you vanish the pizza?! How does this play for your audiences , and whats the best age range for the NEW AND IMPROVED SM PIZZA OVEN? ARMANDO |

I do my pizza box routine the same way Dan Wolfe does it in his demo video. It is the body moves that really sell this one, I stick the second pizza under my suspenders, and after I take my jacket off I ask them "what are you kids laughing at"? The pizza box is one of the strongest routines in my show. The age group that loves this routine the most is the 3 to 93 age group. Armando Don't call me Mr Angello, please call me Alfonso.

Everybody that see this trick is astonished. The adults act exactly like the kids do, screaming "it's on the other side."

For years and years I had one trick that always got remarks and comments afterward. It was almost guaranteed that, if someone came up after the show, they were gonna remark about that trick, which for now I will not name.
This week, I did a cub scout show. I did the aforementioned remarkable trick. Two parents came up to me after the show. They did NOT comment on the trick that 'always got remarks." Instead, both of them commented on my SM Pizza Oven (which is actually a pizza BOX, not an oven.) Is that good enough for ya? |

I too love it. - When I am doing it for a young audience I also play the song "On Top of My Pizza"
The magic is not in our sleights and illusions, but instead in our ability to bring love and joy.

I'm looking for reactions on how it plays with 7year olds and above?

Well, in that case I'd say at least half of those scouts were over 7.
I have not yet done it for adults, but I would have no problem presenting it for them. Of course, the routine would be a little different. My "adult" routine would suggest that I am a bit dense and did not realize what was happening (a position that many on this board would not argue with.) I think that the vanish and a humorous reappearance would still be an entertaining piece. |

I believe the Smokey Mountain Pizza Box will be perfect for 7 year old kids. I also think it will appeal to older audience members also because it actually involves strong magic. I saw Dan demo the box and the vanish is fantastic! It is undetectable, even from close up. I was 2 feet away and it looked unbelievable! The quality and workmanship is unbelievable too! Dan's customer service as also as good as it gets!

I truly hate threads like this because I have been trying to
convince myself that I don't need this. The more I read the more I need this. Thanks a lot folks. Mike |

If memory serves me correctly you were undecided which of Dan's tricks you wanted several months ago, and IMHO this is the one you should have picked.

Mike, I'm with you, I'm thinking I need one of these too so I can retire my sucker die box! I love this thing!
What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about?
My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums. |

Hey Al!
You are correct! I was debating and I did purchase the pop gun over the pizza trick. I'm very very happy I did and If I had to redo it again I'd most likely make the same decision as I love it. That said, the pizza trick is getting harder and harder to pass up. I haven't read one concern about it. I guess you simply cannot go wrong with SMM products. Anyone looking for a new home for theirs??? Mike |

It is easily the hit of my show, and because you hold it against your body there is a lot of room to add physical comedy. My lovely wife bought me mine for Christmas, and I'm still learning how to do it. Last week I did it for an 80 year old birthday party, and they all acted like kids.

I learned to use mine right away because I am better than Al. And it's also *a* hit of my show ... not *the* hit, but a nice part of the show that I would hate to leave out.
P.S. The crack about Al was a joke. |

Is this difficult to learn or just takes a knack to get use to it?

It is easy to do, and every show I do it a little bit better ( I'm not as fast a learner as Starrpower)

The look on the audience faces when you open both doors and the Pizza is competely gone, nowhere to be found says it all.
This effect just slays the audience, adults included. I was also trying to stay on the fence as to whether or not I really needed this prop, when I made the decision to buy. Now my Die box had been retired, may bring it back for 1 or 2 shows later but for now..Pizza box rules....great idea by Dan. Bill |
