I've misplaced my Fibre Optics DVD, and I recently came into possession of actual "magician's rope" so I wanted to watch the segment where Richard talks about prepping the rope. I'll ask this question in an open forum since I'm confident this is nothing to do with magic exposure, of either the routine or its secrets. I'm simply interested in the measurements that Richard recommends, if the rope is cored or not, and if he white glues, burns or tucks the ends. Any help please?

The ends appear to be tucked in, which probably means no core. I sure can't shove a rope's ends in when there is a core in the way. I don't remember the exact measurements, but set it up for a fairly visible PNM setup and you'll be fine.

The rope setup is the same proportions for Professor's Nightmare.
Rope with no core. And I find that people are occasionally suspicious of the tucked in ends, so I just either use glue, or wrap the ends with a piece of clear tape.

Using cored "magician's rope," you can use 41 inches, 24 inches, and 9 inches. I believe that's what Sander's called for, and those measurements work fine.
