Well, the title sais it all my fellow Tenyo enthousiasts!
In other words, what was the most expensive Tenyo trick you ever bought? And I do mean what YOU payed for it, not the value that is had or has now Perhaps this isn't the most 'polite' thing to ask to you guys and girl(s?), but you know, don't react if you don't want to The tricks I payed most for thus my most expensive tricks in my collection are: * for 160 USD, bought last year on Ebay, Super Vase A La India, with original instructions and box (opened) * for 140 USD, bought last year on Ebay, Fantastic (nót FantasticA!) with original instructions and box (opened) So ... what is the most you ever payed for a Tenyo trick? What was the trick and where did you buy it? |

And today a 120 USD mint Paradox on Ebay didn't get sold John ... how does that make you feel ...

That seller would only ship to the U.S. which in many cases limits the price. The Paradox that sold a few weeks ago went for $183... go figure.

I just went on a spending spree and wound up getting Eye of the Idol for a little over $100... a lot for me, but I also got Sandwich Platters for $55. Was tempted to get Nostradamus Clock but it went for $155!

What does a mint Midas Machine go for? In package (though the glue never holds on the packaging) w/instructions and never used.
I have a beautiful squeeze play, the most beautiful I have ever seen. Still sealed with a perfect box, wondering it's value. I have a mint trio cigarette, sandwich platter, see through card, occult board, card changer, and moon spinner. All never used and totally BNIP. What's the most you have seen these go for? |

Midas Machine: sold for +/- 80 USD Trio Cigarette: never seen this on Ebay, so this could be worth quite a lot Sandwich Platter: sold for +/- 60 USD See Through Card; sold for +/- 40 USD Occult Board: still available at some shops I believe for +/- 30 USD Card Changer: sold for +/- 150 USD Moonspinner: solf for +/- 50 USD Squeeze Play: still available for +/- 30 USD |

Thank you sir!
I have some SEALED Doug Henning Tenyo stuff as well (super rare). Mostly looking to trade. I need another Eye of the Idol and Telesphere! I'm also looking for a standard BNIP Tunnel of Darkness, I have an extra super-rare Henning Tunnel of Darkness for trade (but it ain't cheap). Beautiful in mint package. I'm guessing $300-$500ish? Sealed ones are definitely tough I hear. My Trio Cigarette is T-8! Very early Tenyo magic, three tricks in one. This one I won't part with cheaply. It's super old and super mint. It's BNIP, had it for a long time. |

I also once bought a Doug Henning TOD (thought it was 'Tenyo' when I bought it) ... it was just in some plastic bag if I remember correctly. I prefer the nice Tenyo package to be honest. I don't understand why the Doug Henning version is worth more then Tenyo, apart from it being more rare of course. 300 - 500 USD? ... wel you never know these days of course, but that seems estimated a wee bit too high imho
Trio Cigarette mint in package is a trick you should treasure and not let go easily PS.: I have a mint Telesphere by the way. Pm me if interested, I prefer trading it for something, not selling. |

I agree the estimate might be a wee bit high for the Henning ToD, but when a standard ToD goes for nearly $350 and it's not even BNIP, it doesn't sound so off. The Henning version is actually more collectible because it appeals to DH collectors as well, not just Tenyo collectors. A DH ToD isn't worth nearly as much as unsealed as it is sealed. This is because with a little ingenuity, they can be faked. I have two and both are sealed. One is for trade. The bag is clear and instructions are white. I was looking for a ToD and just recently traded with my friend (large deal) and got the Henning ToD's (he doesn't like ToD for some reason, I love it). I also have diminishing card which is even earlier than Trio cigarette! This is another one that is $$$. Thanks for your info and help Tweety! |

I never sold my Diminishing card (old one and complete) on ebay on 1year for 35euros so no this one have not big value.
I agree with Killertweety, for me Doug henning edition have absolutly no interest. For trio cigarette there is lot of shop on europe selling this one brand new for 10euros. |

Diminishing card should fetch an easy $100+ US. Not sure why yours didn't sell. I disagree with your opinion about Henning tricks. They aren't as pretty as originally packed Tenyo, but are interesting to many. |

The only one Henning that have interest for me as collector is the Floating lady because design of magician is not the same in the plate but the other one are exactly the same as Tenyo but without package and with a basic manual so ....
You can see my diminishing card here, maybe I'm wrong and it's not the version you speak: http://tenyo-magic.blogspot.com/2010/05/t-003.html When I see your comment about trio cigarette I have order 2 of them for 16euros lol Hope it's good investisment otherwise I would take revenge |

Trio Cigarette with Japanese text isn't as valuable as English text I have heard. Do you have the English or Japanese version? I have had it for a long time, so I paid face value .
Same Diminishing Card in English, I'm surprised you didn't sell for at least $50+ US, today I could see it pulling an easy $100+ as it's within the first 10 tricks Tenyo released. Not sure about Europe, but these are super tough to find in the states. I do like the Henning Floating Lady with Henning's head I do agree that regular Tenyo is obviously our passion, I'm just saying that Henning tricks are neat because they are Doug Henning authorized and Tenyo classics. Tunnel of Darkness is really nice in either Henning or regular version. I like the regular one in package more but a mint Henning version is simply worth more mint in sealed package. I have seen way more regular ToD than the Henning version. I agree with Tweety that they are not worth $500, but if a regular one without package went for nearly $350, a Henning version should easily fetch somewhere in between $300-500. I have a gem mint Time Capsule as well, that's another tough trick to find and excellent. |

I just spent 155 US on a used Nostradamus Clock on the auction site. I have a sinking feeling that I may have been out of my mind... definitely the most I have spent so far.
