I do really like the look of this version. I think the handling of this version in combination with the patter from tommy wonder would make an excellent routine.
I personally just do a 5 card wild card. here's my routine: I use the glide to put one face down, one face up, one face down, and one face up. then show the last card as the wild card. I put the wild card face to face with the first face down card and peal them apart. the second face down one, I put in between in other two and do a sort of flip move (kind of like what garrett thomas does in stand up monte). then I count the three cards (to reverse the order). I take the next card that is face down... put it on the face of the pack... do a DL to show that it hasn't changed. I can show the backs of the other three cleanly as I point to this 4th card. DL the card back over... then single lift to show that it's changed. then do a standard elmsley count to show the four backs. you're left with one face up card. I flick the edge of the card so it does one rotation onto the table. it's a great climax because it looks like it just changes from flicking it. I put it on top of the other four... show all 5 have changed... turn them over, and you're set up for a 5 card elmsley count counting 5 as 5 (hiding 2). I like my version because how convincingly you can show all the backs and the final flick change is very visual which works as a climax. it's a much shorter routine also. hits them hard, then the cards are put away so there's less chance that they want to examine them. |

Watching Mr. Vallarino on this video (Ultimate Wild Card) has inspired me to pay close attention to my handling of cards in general.
Just the way he displays and turns over cards is like poetry in motion. I'm definitely glad I purchased and studied this DVD. It will change the way I perform and that's a good thing.

He does handle them [the cards] beautifully. And *lightly*.
Truly one of the greatest magicians of his generation. That is, of you like moments of wonder. Me? I'm like a kid when I see his stuff. |

In fact, what would be great* is a big, thick, nicely bound book called, "The Classic Magic of Jean-Pierre Vallarino"
Who's got his number? * and me not to write "of" when I mean "if"... |

I purchased ultimate wild card from MJM Magic and I love the effect but unfortunately I have practiced so much that the cards are now quite worn. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I just bought UW Card as well; knowing special cards tend to get worn out, the first thing I did was make a practice set using various blank cards I have, and red/black markers. A good idea in general for gaffs? My artwork is poor, but I'm the only one who'll ever see it, in practicing. This is a great routine! If you watch closely, multiple times, I think it's quite "discrepant" but as it flows along so well, you just get carried along with each reveal. Larry |

Purchased this a couple of years ago. Beautiful routining and once you have it perfected you become addicted to performing this. Can you imagine the lay persons perception when watching.

Lots of fun practicing this one, and IMO, music really
adds to the strength of this effect...

I love it too. still try to make it a bit more "mine". instead of music, I m telling a story of a casino-employe... so when counting the faces on the start (the second counting after the backs), when I reach the "wild card", I sort it out on the table and continue the ham***-count. this is putting a break to the secound time you make this count, covers good the secret move. its an idea from thommy wonders wild card routine. after I prefer to take all "same cards" in one pile (instead of a face up and a face down one), all "face up" (in the audiance eye), deal from this sometimes face up, sometimes face down. at the end I collect all the kings (my wild card), which I putted "all over the table" together in a way that after they are sorted to show just backs with a ham***-count. than the audiance sees all fronts (on the table laying around) and just a sec later all backs (while counting). I find it a strong way to finish .
