Not sure if this is place for this post... Just wondering if somebody has done this illusion. If so are you happy with it, and what is your primary use for it?
Thanks Kid

A great trick that is easy to do and can be done close up. From children's parties to restaurants, kids and adults love this. It is not made for stage but their is a much larger version of it at about six times the price. I have found you need a story to it to really sell the effect. I pull out the pad draw the face and tell of how when I was a child I was always having to move and didn't get to make many friends so I turned to magic and now if I am ever lonely or it seems I don't have a friend in this world I just take my marker and draw who else but Mark! A nice effect at a good price under 60.00 but be warned you can lose some of your friend if your'e not careful and if you lose to much of him you won't be able to do the trick until you get some more of him. Owners of this know what I am talking about. Still I would recommend it. Four out of four stars!

I liked the trick a lot... But I really liked the instructions. Best instructions i have seen with a trick in a long time...
If you ever get to a point where words have no meaning, you're probably talking to a dog.

This effect is okay.
Definitely needs a story or to be part of a routine. It does have angle constraints. It does take a while not to telegraph you hand movents as you control the motion. I give it 3.5 out of 5 |

I've used the pad for selective points in walk-around work. Initally I used it with children, but found it's a positive with adults as well.
I use it to identify the card "lost in the deck". I introduce the character drawing by name as one of the people at the table when they were six years old. The character comes to life, first the eyes, then the talking mouth which, after some one liners, he talks in an obvious falseto. (cheap ventriliquist & fun magic act for the price of one!) He "reveals" the selected card and the character picture is signed and the assistant has a momento of the performance. It's truly what you make it. Have fun! |

Thanks Indy Ron. I like the way you handle the effect sounds like this one's a winner, think I'll purchase it.

I recently purchased the Note Pad Suprise. I am working on the handling and story line also. I am a little disappointed in the looks of the mouth but the movement of the eyes is great. If you a familiar with Axtell drawing board it works on much the same principle. The big difference is the ability to give the spectator the picture. Very Cool. Replacement parts are available from his web site a very reasonable price and you will probably want to get some especially in the learning phase.
