Hello guys, whom among you possess a confetti cannon? The problem with mine is, I just got it yesterday, and I don't know how in the world to use it, I've put the 2 9volt batteries needed in the gadget, and when I hit the remote, the cannon makes a tsk tsk tsk sound, I've tried putting in some flash cotton, but still no boom.

It's been quite a while since I used mine, but I seem to remember using a small amount of flash cotton on the glow plug, then some flash paper, and then the FLAMEPROOF confetti.

Do you have to put flash cotton inside the compartment box? Or just inside the tube?

You do not have the materials packed in tight enough. The gases from the fire ignition are escaping around the load materials. I think the flash cotton goes in the tube and then the flash paper and load all packed tightly.
I have not used one of these in years as I prefer the CO2 models. You might also contact Theater Effects on this. Richard

Do you have the cap taped on the end of it? The cap creates back pressure and when the cap finally pops, that is what creates the pressure to fire the confetti out.

Clinton and Richard sound right from what I remember. All of mine are the air tank style but I remember those from the magic shop days. The flash cotton provides the sure ignition for the flash paper, the expanding gases of the flash paper create the propulsion for the confetti. This is kind of a ***ized system just created from a company that mainly does pyro to give them the ability to get into the confetti market. I would REALLY suggest one of the many brands of CO2 launchers that are available as it is really a better propulsion method than using a deflagrating explosive for the same job.

Ok I'll explain what my confetti cannon looks like first, its a thingamajig box thing with a funnel tube on top, then inside the box, theres a lot of wirings and it needs 2 pcs 9volt battery, ok so I already put in the battery already, so it makes the rapid tsk tsk tsk sound whenever I press the remote, theres a wire outside the cannon that glows red whenever I press the remote, theres a small hole near the base of the tube, I don't know whats the use of that one. How in the world is the glowing red thing supposed to hit the flash cotton inside the funnel tube? I've analyzed it carefully, there's no way that I can think off. I'm not good with pyrokinetics.

The glowing wire should be inside the tube at the bottom.
Can you post a photo?

The reason the coil is outside the tube on this unit is to keep from damaging it during the firing. The tube can be sealed better and build better compression this way.
Ok... you'll need to take a small strip of flash paper and wind it into a "fuse". A small piece of flash cotton will be placed on the glowing wire then the flash paper "fuse" will go from there through the hole in the bottom of the cannon. Inside the tube you'll need the compressed flash paper load (I remember one unit used a full size sheet of flash paper for the compression YMMV)then the flame proof confetti. I don't believe these units needed a lifting cap or compression cap on the top. The glowing wire ignites the flash cotton which ignites the flas fuse which burns into the tube igniting the compressed ball of flash paper building compression before finally blowing out the paper. There will be up to a several second delay from the push until the firing which is yet another reason I don't really like these units. Hopefully that will get you started!

WOW! Ray! I tried it! IT ACTUALLY WORKED! HAHAHAHA. Suppppper thank you! Finally! I thought it was broken or something! Again, thank you guys next question if, what to load? Setup the fuse like what Ray said. Flash cotton on the bottom then confetti then a piece of paper on the top to seal it?

This is why the C02 is awesome, you can load much more into the cannon, such as water and balloons. water into the cylinder, tape a balloon to the mouth of the cylinder, invert the balloon into the cylinder, cap it of, trip the cylinder(Co2) balloon blows up, and showers water when it pops, Great for outside summer shows. instead of water, replace water with Confetti or Streamers.
