Hello everyone !
Sadly, I broke a Tango folding coin internal system beyond repair. So I asked myself, instead of trashing it, why not use it ? What do you think of the effect : borrow a coin, start to bend it optically. Pass, continue to bend it optically, only this time you can show it's really bended, and pass the coin around for inspection. Then pass and bend it yet again until it Breaks in two half... clearly show the 2 halves, Heal it, and return the coin...
I'm just a blind Con that lost his I...

You could stop after bending it and handing it out. Gives a nice souvenir to the spectator and is much stronger IMHO.
Practicing is like a bank, if you don't put anything in, you won't get anything out!

I like the idea in general, but I'd be concerned that the edges of the broken coin (to me) would be "too clean" for something that was supposedly bent until it broke. This puts two elements of the routine at odds with each other. I'd want the spectators to really burn the separate pieces to see they are REALLY separate, but at the same time I wouldn't want them to clearly seen the clean edges. Since the coin is trashed, maybe you can mess up the edges with pliers or something to give them a really "torn" look?
I prefer this type of karate coin for the above reason: ![]() as opposed to these which again (to me) have "too clean" a look close up: ![]() |

Maybe only show it bent.... then tear/break it fully, hand out the pieces (if the edges are "rough" enough), then under the guise of they're still "warm" or something, repair the coin but only to the bent state? |
