Glad to hear someone mention Lorayne's Quinella, its a killer.
Heres a tip for those who have tried this or who have read the concept and skipped over it. Read Harry's write up very carefully. I thought I knew how to do the revelation for years until I started doing it EXACTLY the way Harry teaches. It was like night and day. Done , properly the revelations are pure MAGIC. Do not overlook this. Tip number two. Study Lorayne's presentational tip on this one. Ask for the names of the selected cards. now repeat the name of the first card at the EXACT time of the revelation. Same for the second. The combination of the naming of the selections and their simultaneous revelations, and the proper execution of the drops make this trick very effective. Sorry, I guess I should have started a new thread for this beauty! Thankyou Mr. Lorayne. Rodney |

Steve Freeman's "Time Machine." It's over in about 15 seconds, and it doesn't involve their picking a card. If I can do something more drawn out, then I'd do "Diplopia/Tapalac." Or, perhaps, Guastaferro's "Mr. E. Takes a Stroll." Alternately, an in-the-hands "Triumph" (I do a combo of Bannon's and Josh Jay's.)

I would do one of two: either my presentation of the Biddle Trick, or Swain's Ice Breaker.

Oh, I love Quinella. It is one of four tricks that I specifically remember Harry mentioning that he used before a lay audience in nearly every performance. Mated (CUCM), Out of My Control(Decksterity), Quinella (also CUCM), and Card to Pocket (The Magic Book). I use them all with great regularity, Quinella and Mated (that really should have been in the list above), especially. Indeed, I think mated is a forgotten gem. The Impossible Location makes a very good closer.

Another Harry Lorayne one for me, 'One Eyed Jack Sandwich'. My reasons are that it is short, and easy for people to comprehend while being a good demonstration of something unexpectedly magical happening; it is technically undemanding so that in a 'hobbyist under the spotlight' scenario there's nothing much to screw up, and so is a good confidence builder; and finally, it is a very flexible trick - you don't have to use One Eyed Jacks, the mystery card can never be shown, or can be a Joker, a blank, another card etc, and the reveal can go one of a number of ways. Because of its flexibility, I find that I can either play is 'straight' as written, or, if there has been any previous mention of another card in some context for example, then it can be brought into the presentation very simply.

I usually start with a quicky like rub a dub and then go into biddletrick, counterpunch, twisting the aces/dr daleys and/or ACR, tipsy trick. One of those
