I am starting to see MANY new threads that have been already posted asking the same thing, such as bisection, Art of Astonishment questions, and many others. Is there a way to spread the search bar for people to utilize it?

repeat questions are bound to happen with the number of members we have and are getting each and every day. The new search engine is quite detailed but it's a matter of getting members to use it. It is often more convenient to post a question than search for previous answers.

Dave, just wondering: as djvirtualreality mentioned, there are hundreds of new postings that address the very same issues of older threads. Would it be possible to cut/paste them at the bottom of the older threads? Or, simply lock or delete them, putting a link to the older threads?
This would definitely simplify the search functions. Thanks, Ken |

Ken, at the present time, we cannot move a single post. If we see a new thread that is an exact duplicate of an older one, we often post a link to the older one and lock the new topic. With so many posts everyday, it's difficult to catch them all.

As an addition to what Dave has already said, when you see a post such as the ones that you are reffering to, use the report to button and let us know that this is a thread that has been repeated we then can go out and lock the thread and put a url for new members to go to the old thread.
We have a limited number of staff, (there are more of you then there are of us) and we really appreciate your letting us know that there is a problem by using that function. Thanks Mya
There is nothing that remains so constant as change. Don't end up like concrete, all mixed up and permanently set.
