After reading this thread, I watched the promotional video for the effect.

I gotta say, everyone is being pretty hard on Eddie. This is likely because he was trying to SELL the effect, an effect that is derivative with a manuscript that needs an editor.

I believe he would have enjoyed a much more favorable reception if, as others have pointed out, he chose instead to submit the handling for publication in a magazine, which I'm sure he will consider doing for other tricks he produces, rather than trying to monetize every variation or handling.

Agreed. I don't see the point in condescending comments calling Mr. Boswell a "child", "young man", or questioning whether he thinks of himself as a card expert. Putting his very questionable decision to bring this to market aside; people on here seem to forget that your number of years or dedication in magic is not directly proportional to the number of posts you have.

Agreed entirely! Calling someone 'Child' and 'Young Man' in such a patronising way. Give your feedback but do not be so rude! Ironically, it seems as though its you who needs to grow up! Where on earth does it get you being so rude to people!

Ive just reviewed the PDF and I would agree. I do think that there have been effects that leave you in a better condition and looks slightly better. I think Eddie has created something that clearly suits him and possibly suited others. If it works from the spectators point of view then brilliant!

I agree.
I am a young magician, it is hard breaking in to the market of PDFs.
Although the price is too high, he has clearly taken lots of time to create a nice effect, PDF with credits and bonuses.

Keep going Edward, work on the criticism and get ready guys, because I am sure this guy will be a great force very soon!

Not sure what all the fuss is about. 99% of magic released today is derivative. There are people out there making a good living releasing their take on a plot. The problem on here is that if you are a "known" name, some people just kiss a**e and say how great something is. But when someone new tries the same thing, they are met with huge criticism. I'm not sure I'd pay $10 for it but I've seen worse released.

I would like to thank everyone who commented about my pdf. After consideration I believe that my effect is still an advancement on the original plot but $10 is a lot of money for it. So I have put it free on my site. For those that appreciate my efforts I thank you, for those that don't I thank you even more.
Thanks,
Edward Boswell

Eddie, why do you feel this is an advancement?

Having viewer all three videos, it seems as if the handling works against the creation of conviction regarding the initial conditions of the effect. In fact, in one of them, the situation you show is completely different from the situation you want the audience to believe.

If the audience does not believe you have a coin, why would the be amazed that it disappeared?

Other than the fact it is a sequence of moves you worked out - and we tend to all be enamored with those things - why specifically do you feel this is an 'advancement' and not a step backwards or at most just a step sideways?
