I read about Macdougall column The Inside Straight published in American magazine called McClure Syndicate.
Any info about it? |

Hi mate.
McClure (Newspaper) Syndicate is the name of the newspaper and "The Inside Straight" was the column he wrote for them for something like... 20 years (or so). That's a lot of words. I think he started a bit before 1960 and may have written until 1980 or so. I've never found a place with all the archives. I'm afraid you should live in USA for that. |

McClurewas a syndicator, which means the columns were sent from a central publisher to the newspapers around the US that carried the syndicated content. McClure was the first syndicate, but at the time it was running Macdougall's columns, it was owned by the North American Newspaper Alliance. If you can find any papers that carried the column, you should be able to track down extended runs of it. That probably means microfiche and large research libraries, but you may have some luck with Lexis Nexis if you have some way to get access to that.
