The problem with at stuffed puppet or even a stuffed animal, is it cannot animated to be lifelike. That is the important feature the spring helps create over stuffing. I have seen many a great spring rabbit handled that even fooled me in magic shows. Someone should produce a detailed handling of a spring rabbit, it is sorely needed in the magic community.
