Here's a video of a performance of my soon to be released effect Mix 'n' Match Monte.

Would love to hear people's thoughts on it!

Chris, I really like it. What I love most is that the props are very organic. No need to buy a set of shells or some other similar prop. Given the setting a set of shells would probably look quite out of place. But the match boxes couldn't be more at home in a bar--even here in the U.S. Even with all the bans on smoking everywhere, seeing a couple match boxes is very natural.

Smooth handling as well. Overall, an excellent job. Well done.

Thanks Steven, really appreciate it.
One of the main things I was trying to do when creating the effect was to make it organic, the other was to make the handling easy and natural and I think I've achieved that which I'm very pleased to say!

Ben is referring to Michael Weber's matchbox monte routine in his book Lifesavers.

I'll have to check it out but if he's suggesting the methods are similar then at a guess I'd say they're different.
I shared the method with Whit Hadyn amongst others to confirm originality before I did anything with it and I've since showed it to Glenn Morphew who has commented on how the organic nature of the props and originality of the method brings something new to the game.

I just took a look in Lifesavers and can confirm the methods used are entirely different.

Yes, of course - I'm sre that although the methods are entirely different there is a strong chance that there will some gems of info in there to help my routing and effect.

Saying "saves me a job" wasn't meant to be taken literally, don't think that came across though.

Cool beans.

I'm aware of 5 different matchbox montes- I'll try to provide sources when I find them.
