I'm probably one of the few people here that does not like the show America's Got Talent. Why? When I watched it in the past, one guy, lets say a magician, would do a fantastic expensive routine, to eventually get voted off, while someone else would do something totally ridiculous and keep getting voted to move on to the next round. I feel that no matter what round it is, the thinking should be; Would you pay to see this person perform his/her ACT in Vegas. If you were a casino, would you give this person 100 million dollars.

I don't necessarily like it, I study it. It's my job.

I will say that the amount of money you spend on a prop doesn't have any direct correlation to your "talent", just your budget.

They say that they're looking for a headlining Vegas act, yet they put through cute kids that could never fulfill that demand. They go through because people will tune in to see them.

To be honest, the producer's real job is to deliver viewers to advertisers by fabricating a television series people will keep tuning in to watch week after week. Nothing more. Many people get through in the series (lol... I have trouble calling it a competition!) because the producers believe that people (not magicians) will tune in to see them, bad or good.

Is America's Got Talent playing soon. I don't watch TV much and don't know when that show plays. Does it start in the fall?

I watch lots of TV, I don't like it at all. Never have.

I saw a couple of episodes of the first season and about 10 minutes of this season. The judges annoy the crap out of me. Sharon Osbourne has to be one of the most irritating people on Earth, and that British guy is a close second.
I like Howie Mandell though.

People don't seem to understand that it is made to try to be good TV.

Hey you socialist are you calling me a fat moron? (There I made it political.) I think that the show is communist because it does not show us who got what votes! LOL.

AGT has great examples of how mental illness can get people to believe they have talent. Most of those on the show are awful, the good are few, and those that could actually carry a stage show number below three or so.

I saw Scott from Atlanta do his thing and I like Scott and enjoyed it but that kid from Alaska let me down. First what was done, like most illusions, don't really involve the illusionist at all. He said he wanted to be the most known, not greatest, magician of all time yet he puts out no effort to be original, creative, or even attempt to have a 'look'. The show is amazingly bad but cheap to produce.

I do want to tip my hat to The Voice which does have at least two young ladies that I think would do well because of their uniqueness mixed with actual talent.
