I was curious to see if anyone on here has ever purchased and used the Close-up set of Linking Rings from El Duco. Any thoughts/reviews on them? Thanks in advance!
I have used many other products from El Duco over the years and I have always been very satisfied and never had any problems with them. I still rotate all of them in an out of my shows regularly. |

I used the El Duco rings a lot in the eighties. They come in a nice jewel case which is not gimmcked, buit is used in the routine to switch the k-ring in and out. The rings are smaller than the ones used by Shoot Ogawa, but the tubing that forms the rings is fatter, which makes the rings appear more solid and visible despite their smaller size. Whether this would make some of the moves used by Shoot or Sperry more difficult or not, I could not say without experimenting, but the El Duco routine was simple and effective, and I always liked it.

Thanks for the info! I have been eyeing the El Duco rings because of their smaller size. I like using the Ninja Rings but I find that sometimes they are too big for my country club audiences because there, I am doing routines for 3-5 people at a time, and they just end up translating as bulk.
Taking the El Duco ring size into account, for certain situations, I think the hardware store hitch ring plot will be more suitable for them than it is with Ninja Rings... |

Thanks for posting that link, although I already use that site to order their products! I love El Duco and their products, and the staff is just wonderful to work with. Anybody who has not been to the El Duco site should check it out because just about every effect on there has a demonstration video to go along with it; this way you can see what the effect looks like, not just read it. Very well thought out!

They all look great, are well routined (complete with motivation for the props, stories, etc.) and the quality is hard to match, let alone beat. |

Well, I recently just gave in and purchased the El Duco Close-Up Ring Routine. WOW! As an avid performer and lover of the linking rings, I have to say this routine is well put together, well choreographed and the rings are beautiful! I have been playing with these things constantly since they came in the mail and I cannot put them down. The price is almost too low, in my opinion but at any rate, I highly recommend these because they are also the perfect size for close-up work, both in diameter and in thickness. The number of things that can be done with this set is limited only by imagination!
Now to find the El Duco Mirror Rings.... |
