I've been asked to provide a Lobby Poster by management at the restaurant I'm currently performing at. I have never had one before or for that matter ever seen a Lobby Poster for a magician in a restaurant. Wondering if anyone could help me out here and provide an example of what one should look like.
Appreciate if very much, Jason |

It normally is a pic of you with your name and maybe with some sort of a tag line. I would not put any dates, times or places on it unless you have a long contract with them. I am sure some will post a pic of theirs to show you. Here is mine but I will be changing it soon.

I went to my local Fed-Ex store and they made a few up for me. I had a caricature of me drawn a few years ago, took the picture in, they scanned it into the computer, added the text and placed in on foam board. Approx 11" x 17". It says. Appearing (whatever day) from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. "Putting a Little Magic in Your Dining Experience" Magician David Paul...On bottom of poster it states "Compliments of the Management of "restaurant name"....
It ran about $24.00 for two laminated posters. They were very good about laying it out on the computer with font sizes and color schemes and it was done in less than a day. If they have time they will do it while you wait.

Here's the one I use for Crystals...
This same poster is also on every napkin holder in the restaurant and has also been blown up to a giant 30' banner that hangs behind me on the stage (backdrop) during my act. I really LOVE Lou's!!!! His has inspired me to update my own a tad...very classy!

Here's a copy of my postcard that is on each table. On the flip side, I put one of the restaurant's signature appetizers, a flaming saganaki, which increased sales of that item dramatically:

I don't get it? What am I missing? If I were a guy off the street, I would wonder why theres a big poster of Flavor Flav in the lobby area. Where's your name? How does this poster advertise magic?

Please Christopher I ask of you as a gentleman not to speak on anything that I do, I didn't put it here to listen to anyones advice on what I do... and insult me with the flavor flav comment... My things that I do work for me you don't have to understand why or what the meaning is. It's not up to you to get my clients understand and it acchomplishes what I need it to do. Thank you and I ask that we respect eachother and their wishes...

It's here so that the orignal poster can see some ideas if they choose and say I'll never use anything like that then I have helped in that manner. If they look and say neat idea, but I'd ad my name and website or any other type of information then I have helped a little bit in that way. So Learn to assist others instead of trying to joke on anothe memeber of this craft, because not everyone agress with your style of poster, but it works for you and that's all that matters.

Dude.. relax. I only commented because you actually do look kinda look like Flava Flav in your poster, and Christopher's comment made me chuckle. I'm not laughing at your poster, it looks nice.
I will say that I completely agree with Christopher. You have absolutely no contact information on your poster, or no information indicating anything magicical whatsoever. If you don't want any comments of your poster, don't post it to begin with. If you were smart, you would listen to this advice and not be offended by it. Good luck man. |

No since I'm smart I listen to my manager and promoter who continues to book me and not listen to some stranger over the Internet. I do what works for me and posting something here doesn't automatically open it up for comments. So I'll leave this conversation with positive vibes and thanks to all

For what it's worth Lion, don't think you look like Flava Flav, but confess to getting a chuckle out of the comment. The poster has a cool look to it, but don't understand how anyone would connect it to there being a magician performing.
Not that it matters what I understand, as you stated... if it works for you than this is all that matters, and it serves as another example of what can be done for a lobby board. Peace, Mark |

The poster does make you ask the W's? Why is it here? What does he do? Where can I see him? So at first glance it doesn't make sense but it sounds like it gets results.

Thank you brehan... you get it... finally maybe I've been in school for marketing and my manager and promoters and I all got together along with some local establishments around town and came up with this idea. It didn't just come out of the blue, and it does what it's suppose to weather you notice it or not, stop looking at it like a magician and see it from the eyes of the ppl who see our shows.. It creates what ever is in your mind, W's I cater to a certain clientel and for what it's worth. I say once again It does what it's suppose to
