For the Marlovian treatment, see Part Two: Open Prediction in Jon Racherbaumer's bound version of The Hierophant, pp. 85-113.

Ouch! bblumen, you caught me. Yes, I meant Stewart James. Thanks for the correction.

Unsure, but to me this looks like Raj Madhok's "Open Perception" that appeared in MAGIC Magazine in August 2004. It requires a gaff and "a little something else" to achieve a VERY clean open prediction.

Thank you Darwin Ortiz.
Out of the mouth of a consummate professional. Man! A literal treasure trove of practical hard-hitting advice...even for those of us who will probably never appear on TV performing magic for the host and the audience. The advice on providing clear instructions and anticipating how a layman spectator's mind works (and what he reasonably expects) is applicable to all performances. Mike

How can we thank Mr. Darwin Ortiz for his help??? I've almost all of your DVDs. You're very clever!!!
This is my take on the Marlo's Open Prediction plot. It's totally impromptu, instant reset, can be done FASDIU and every time is different. Sorry I have not used a spectator, but I do not know many people who speak English!!! In fact, my English is terrible, I'm sorry about that too!!! Give me your thoughts!!! Any advise is welcome. See you!!! |
