Trap fold is the best. Check with Rice's silk ency. I don't know if you are talking about a big finale silk or not. That is another matter in some cases Though I use a trap fold for it also.

Similar to a trap fold I would suspect, but I never have worked with diamond silks in this fashion.

Hmmmmmmmmm...
You have a diamond-shaped silk fountain? I've never seen a diamond-shaped silk fountain, and I don't quite understand why to use diamond-shaped silks in a trick that relies on the visual effect of silks "blossoming into a "bloom" of color"....which really points out, I think, the need to use square-shaped silks in a Silk Fountain bit.......just my 2 cents worth...... The square-shaped silks "bloom" better as they unfold, and offer better "cover" for a subsequent production as part of a routine... |

I'm not sure either that diamond-cut silks are the best choice for a silk fountain.

It seems to me that diamond cut silks are the wrong ones for the job.

I 100% agree with you guys. I think Jay Scot Berry was selling a diamond cut fountain at one time.

Jay Scott Berry does sell his Diamond Silk Fountain.
http://www.mjmmagic.com/store/the-diamon......483.html He is slso currently teaching the folding in his current lecture tour. The OP should attend one of his lectures and he will learn how to fold his silk fountain. I would try emailing Jay Scott Berry at info@jayscottberry.com I went to his web site and none of his links work, so I guess he is touring. He is into music as well currently performing. |

Sly2272, you would have to email General Grant, he does not have a web site, but has an email address. I don't know if he give details on the silk fountain trick, he usually sells dove production information and his gimmicks.
His version uses square silks, just like the standard silk fountains. I believe he includes a dove production, you will have to check with him, as it has been a long time since I talked to him at a magic convention. If you want details on the Silk Fountain, just get the Laflin Magic DVD it explains everything you need to know to make and perform a silk fountain. They also sell several versions if you do not want to buy the silks separately. Richard Huges told you how to assemble a silk fountain, it uses the 'trap fold', that is all we can say on the Café. |
