Hi!
I heard Mr. Latimer won three prizes in FISM with the same routine! What do you think about it? Regards!

Latimer entered in three categories.
1: Stage act 2: Micro-Magic act 3: Invention He did NOT WIN stage. (He had a drop during manipulation segment; same act won him $5,000 Sarmoti Award from Siegfried and Roy last January at the World Magic Seminar). He did win the Micro-Magic (close-up first prize and later the Close-Up Grand Prix by out scoring the winner of the Card Magic first prize, with the same close up act.) The routine he used in close-up was using a CLEAR GLASS set of cups for the cups and balls that were his own invention, and he was awarded first prize for invention. It fooled everybody. He deserved to win.

I saw him do his stage manipulation act at the Magic Castle. Very impressive!

Fact is, you don't win $5000 at the WMS. First they subtract all their expenses like the cost of your flight(s), hotel room, registration fee, etc. What's left you get to keep. They do pay all these things even if you don't win, but I still think it's a bit misleading. |

I recently saw Jasons satge act at the British IBM convention. Interesting stuff. Very fast. More for magicians than anybody else I think though.
