Any suggestions on how to steal away one of them without them talking? I can't seem to separate them without making a very obvious noise.

Hmmm… there's two extremes you can go to.
One, have the spectator hold out one hand palm up. Do the dumping move into the spectator's hand at the same time as holding back the extra. The sound of the ball and tube rattling will cover any extra noise. Two, get a PTFE (Teflon) spray and coat the inside of the outer tube. The second is more extreme, and might not work on some tubes that have been machine milled. The Magicmakers' tube would be nice, for example, but there is a serious scraping noise caused by the ridges left by milling. In either case, good luck! |

That's a great suggestion. I'll try that.
I always hand them the ball as ask them to look at the smiley face on it. Of course there isn't one, but by the time they figure that out I take the tube and hand it to them smiling. |
