I saw a very good street magician the other day and he had 4 quarters each quarter was real verified by the audience and the quarters belonged to another person of the audience. There were no actors and I'm sure of it. He took the 4 quarters (he said they had to be quarters a dollar coin would not work) and he put 3 into a volunteers hand a little boy around 5 years old with his parents and 1 coin into another woman's hand. He said he would teleport the quarter from the woman's hand to the boys hand. After a few second he did his hand motions to teleport the quarter and when he told the boy to open his hand he now had 4 quarters and the woman had no quarter in her hand. I've seen this trick done by this magician a few times because I have passed by him multiple times and he does the same routine. But I always wondered how he would do this. Does anyone know?

Many of us know...but we do not reveal secrets on public forums. When you reach 50 legitimate posts, you can access the private forums. There, we can discuss methods, etc.
These tricks can all be learned through various books, as well. There are several great books on coin magic, and there is a forum here on the Café specifically about coin and money magic...check those out for great information. There is also a forum for street performing. You might find that interesting, as well. Welcome to the Café...stay awhile!

Hey, Mike-
I don't do much with coins myself, but if you can suggest a book for me to go to for in-the-hand tricks like this one, I'd be appreciative! I have Bobo, but that's it for metal money (and most of what is in there is solid blocks of text, so I get bogged down if I don't know what I am looking for). I realized in reading the description that it might be a coin trick with similar punch to spongeballs. That's what sort of effect I wish every trick had on the kids I normally do stuff for. -Patrick |
