To cheat we could just find the palindrome thread...
that way the amount of letters you want to set is limitted by how long the word is. eg. 5 letters M A D A M 7 letters R A C E C A R |

Nice, al. Particularly like the terrific change of phonemes in hotshots, unlike say tartar or tse-tse.
Sorry, griffindance, but palindromes aren't quite the same. Abracadabra certainly works though.
