I had the pleasure to see the Duplicity ACAAN for iPhone in beta test.
It will be available on the Apple App store soon.

If you already know Duplicity ACAAN you already know that this effect is very clean,
but it is not easy to perform.

Tommy, using in a very clever way the iPhone, has removed all the hard parts and he has also improved
the effect.

Here a brief description:

The perfomer shows a regular deck of cards and, at same time, he performs also some brief shuffle. Now,
he hands the deck the spectator and he will never touch the deck again. He asks him to perform
as many cuts or triple cuts as he wishes (real cuts). 2 cards and 2 a numbers are called out.
The spectator counts the cards and the 2 cards are at the 2 named numbers.

- Zero skill (you need to concentrate only on the presentation)
- The entire hard work is performed by the smartphone.
- The effect is totally hands off.
- There is no out, the effect is always the same.
(Maybe, there is only one out: Some time you perform a Perfect ACAAN and not a double ACAAN )
It is clean like the Holy Grail.
It is also as direct as possible.

In my opinion it is one of the best ACAAN like effect ever.

How does the iPhone enter the picture? (From the spec's POV, of course.)

A digital version of ACAAN. Not sure how people dig into the idea of using advance technology. It's surely interesting though. Looking forward to it!

The ACAAN is performed with a regular deck and without the smartphone
this effect is impossible. Everything is justified also the iPhone.

If you see it in action I believe you will change mind immediately,
because you will perform a double perfect ACAAN without any sleight or better
it is selfworking.

How does it compare to MACAAN? Are there any similarities?

I guess I'm asking what the rationale for the use of the phone is. In Max's trick, it's a statistics program.

In this effect there is another very rational reason related with your performance and everything is well justified.

If you perform this effect 1 to 1, the spectator will never know that you used your smartphone. It is impossible for him to realize it, because, if you want, he won't see ever the smartphone in your performance.

I like and use the original duplicity. I am curious about the spectators cuts. Is the app essentially the same as the file released with the latest subtle scam? and is it really better than a regular c***?

I am very glad to hear you like Duplicity, anyway, if you are already performing the original one, you don't need to use these extra ideas.
I added my extra thoguhts on Duplicity just to make everyone to perform it, due many people reported me that this effect is very nice
but it is very hard to perform.

Concerning the software, I created some javascript programs in order to make you to build your own gimmick.
Due the javascript works on any device I explained also how you can use this software directly on your phone in order to build the gimmick
as you perform some other trick in your act and then using the smartphone as gimmick.

I thought also that if you want to use the smartphone for this purpose there are some better ideas, so I created a second javascript programm.

In a second moment, I improved this second program in order to make it easy to use and more deceptive.

Usually, as I send my update, I ask always for a feedback, someone reported me that the javascript program doesn't work
on iPhone or on Windows Phone 7, so I decided to write a specific version of this second javascript for iPhone. (For Windows Phone 7,
at moment, I don't have any solution, because I don't know any programmer)

Talking with my friend about how to create quickly a porting of my javascript program on iPhone, I had an idea to improve the effect
adding some free cuts performed by the spectator. So, I created a 3rd javascript, I tested it in order to see if it works well
and now my friend started the porting on iPhone.

This new variant is very very hard to perform without a software and it makes impossible to back track on the secret.

The iPhone version won't be free because there is a lot of extra work.

Ah, now I understand the cuts. That does make the software a tad more interesting, but I'll probably stick with the original (which is really fantastic).

With this application Duplicity becomes (for simplicity) better than
the invisible deck. The deck can be examined and everyone
can perform it. I look forward to it.

Once you are in the drawing screen, how do you get back to the home screen? All in all, this is awesome!!!!!

Same question here - once I entered the drawing screen, there's no way out. Closing it down and restarting doesn't help. It just comes back to the drawing screen. How do I get back to the menu?
