Looking at the description - I find it compelling - but I have never heard of this guy and he is virtually google proof. Any one know anything? |

Me too, even though I just threw away almost $40 on an e-book mentioned here just a few days ago.

Hope you will consider an honest review for us Tony-? There was a time, $40 was ok to chance--but, alas--times are different now.

Can we not openly critique work? We should always be open; I offered a money back guarantee with mine, purely because certain this work well for some but not for others. If you guys feel a certain way about. Product I for one will listen, although not necessarily follow. Having said that, I found Tonys review of EI to be very helpful.

What I hate is when the advertisement says it is one thing and it doesn't appear to accomplish that. Likewise, I hesitate to openly critique too much because it may just be my opinion. However, I do think you make a good point because anonymous complaints may cause someone to think it is someone's work that it isn't and none of us want to do that.

Steve:
In the EI review, I tried to remain fair, and I tried to point out good, as well as bad. The item I purchased this week was not Luke's, and I did question myself in the 'lost thread' on the value of the purchase. I should have listened to my gut. My preference is to not comment on things I don't like. I'm conflicted because I like the author and the first two publications of his I purchased were outstanding. The third (which I commented on elsewhere left a bad taste in my mouth as it was a poorly constructed rehash of his previous work, thrown together to help 'pimp' a product). This latest publication is essentially what I feared and mentioned in the 'lost thread', and a waste of effort opening the document, never mind reading it, As for paying for it, I think you can understand what I think of that. In order to properly review the publication, I would have to mention the "selling points" of the manuscript, and that would not be right. Others, if they have not read the dozens of other publications that go over the same information, or have not seen the threads here on the Café that cover the same information, might get something out of this e-book. My anger is more at myself than anyone or anywhere else. I'm taking this and the previous purchase as lessons. No more! Tony |

Hey everyone,
I just bought the Pendulum Magic e-book and feel I got a good value for the money. There are 18 effects if I remember correctly and are a good mix of psychic and bizarre. There are some (witch)craft [sorry, couldn't help myself] projects that will get some of you guys thinking. I liked it and I think you will too. My 2 cents worth, Doug |

Like Tony, I've purchased five e-books that were promoted in the Café'. Two were a waste of money, one had only one effect I thought about using, the other two were great, in the end it was 2 wins 1 Tie and 2 losses. In one of the two losses, the entire book could be found in 13 Steps and Practical Mental Magic one effect was almost word for word. It has gotten to the point now that I don't buy mentalism or magic books on Amazon anymore. Now, I only buy at brick and mortar magic shops where the books can be viewed before buying.
Peace

D byrd!
You bit the bullet for all of us! And you do like it eh? Mind if I PM you for more details? Do you mind sharing here? I am looking for an effect where the spectator holds the pendulum and something cool happens. Also - in the description - "After reading this you can have a spectator think of anything, then have them reveal it in a way that will create the strongest reaction you will ever see not only from them but the rest of your audience. The best part it can be done anywhere at anytime!" Did you find what they are referring to in the book - if so - is that statement accurate - because it is a pretty strong statement - a statement that can't help but make me very skeptical! Your thought? |

Does anyone here have any other good sources for pendulum work? I don't have much in the area, but find it intriguing. Good to see the positive response on this source.
