I received a trick that says I need to know one of these but, it does not explain what they are. Can anyone explain them to me and which one is easier since I am new to magic. Thanks for any and all help.

Many of the basic books like Bobo's Coin Magic will explain it.

Ink736, if you PM me your e-mail address, I'll send you something that I wrote a few years ago about the French Drop. It's a lengthy article that should teach you the French Drop from beginning to end.

There are alot of books that have this in it. The best for Coin Magic would be Bobo's Modern Coin Magic as mentioned in a previous post.

Dai Vernons Book of Magic has some important subtilties regarding this "easy to bumble" sleight.

David Roth also has some nice subtleties on his dvd. And you can learn more transfer vanishes thant just the french drop.
