For those of you who were following the Essential Magic Conference sessions this won't come as a surprise but for the rest of you the surprise of the Conference was Silly Billy's talk.
At it's heart was a piece of advice that goes to the heart of successful busking: Increase your IPMs or your Interactions Per Minute. He demonstrates this in front of 33 magicians-- then goes on to prove it in front of a roomful of kids. Highly recommended. ps. I haven't seen Pete Wardell's talk yet.

Silly Billy has always advocated having maximum interactions per minute. Kids get very bored very quickly...so interaction is a must.
I would imagine that the same goes for busking...stopping someone to watch you requires them to be engaged...IPM certainly accomplishes that.
