Yep - 512! (And that doesn't include the one days that will register to see Jeff tomorrow.) All I can say is WOW! What a day, so thanks Bob for a very accurate description. There is no other convention where you will have three currently very famous, big stars of the art - come together and be so friendly and accessible to conventioneers. If you aren't here and haven't started saving for next year already - why are you waiting???

Tomorrow is going to be a killer ending to one of the best conVENTions ever.

Yes. For the first time it broke 500. I think it was 512 or something like that.

During open mike tonight I enjoyed this guy who did a humpty dumpty routine. It was very original and funny.

Last night someone brought some white castle hamburgers in the hospitality suite where we can hang out late into the night.

Lee Cornell is selling a bunch of DVDs on manipulating your puppet and other things. I think I'm gonna go broke soon. People are quite friendly to each other here.

Terry Fator did a short bit with Winston and signed autographs. He really is a good performer. The way he handles Winston really makes me think that winston is real and not a puppet.

Not everyone from the Café; Philip and you are not there to join forces with Tom and make me buy stuff, if I were also attending

Well I think we should all make a point of being there next year so we can work on that.

Finally I can post something in here.
Yes, I'm in VH ConVENTion now. I want to buy everythings, but my money & baggage didn't allow me to do that.

I have met Tom, Joseph, and else, including Bob just today.

I think we should have Magic Café Group Photos. Smile

In just a few minutes jeff Dunham is going to sign autographs.

Today's international show good. I liked Sarah Jones comedy. And Andreas Roemas hat changing act. Jeff Dunham talked about this really cool device that prints thing in 3d. You can duplicate anything. Even puppets and stuff. It's several thousands now but the price should come down.

Jeff is also hoping to sell hard vent figures of himself by Xmas to inspire young vents and it will come with a DVD and tips from Jimmy Nelson on how to do vent. It's a great figure. He wanted to make it in the US but China was 4x cheaper so they are making it in China now.

Checked out the vent museum for first time. It's much smaller than I thought. Maybe one day I can retire my puppets there but it's so packed with puppets that there really isn't any space for any more.

I saw someone with a walkaround portable mic and amp. That's actually a good idea for walkaround vent so people can hear you better.

MT--Glad you are having a good time. Sinc I am just beginning to re-learn vent, I didn't come, although my wife and I would have loved the chance to see and meet Jeff Dunham. I am hoping next year might work out.

In the Vent Haven museum today I saw Red Flannels, the partner of Terry Bennett, the first vent I ever saw on TV. It was seeing him that sparked my interest in vent, so it was a thrill to stumble across his figure in the museum.

In museum I saw a paper mache vent figure & a wayang golek aka rod puppet made in Indonesia. That's suprise me, even both are not the best that we can make.

Well, Howie, you'll be seeing me there as well. Met so many more people here as well as running into acquaintances from times past. Tonight's shows were supreme. Energy levels were so high throughout this auspicious affair. Still, I would like to see a vent convention held on the West Coast/ Vegas scene some times again to even draw more into our art. I am going home to gather a couple of crates of goodies to possibly sell next year. And, no, Dan, my JC Turner figure, Ducky O'Neil will not be included. LOL
Hope the rest of you will be able to make it.

The VH Convention is over.

I will start my long journey back home, about 30 hours flight, not included transit time at Orlando, LA, Hongkong and driving from Jakarta to Bandung.

I will be back, but don't know when!

It's my intention to attend, but it will depend a lot on how things go between now and the end of this year.

This year was just a bad fit for me schedule-wise. I watched the videos over at VentCent and hung around here reading everybody's posts about it all. Like David, I don't know WHAT I'll be up to a year from now...but I'd love to be at the conVENTion.

I should point out, however, that putting me in a room with figures and puppets for sale could lead to dangerous overspending. Just sayin'.

Sounds like one of the problems I faced when I went. I even came home with a brand new figure - although that was preplanned - but I also bought a number of other items that were not planned......
Between you and me, and if Buzz went and what we 'talk him into' buying, the dealers would be very happy to see us attend.
