It's just that singers get put through more as most of the producers are in the music industry so that's just what they know. The interesting fact is that the supposed goal is to place the winner into a show in Vegas yet the ONLY one that is still successful in Vegas is the only variety act to win the show, Terry Fator. The other singers all come and go in a flash. Last year's winner only did 1 show at Caesars Palace last year which was a part of a promoted AGT event. There was certainly no "Headlining Status" the others have achieved outside of Terry.

"Nuttin' but Stringz" had a good start at an act. They are very talented and if they keep at it, in 5 years they will have a polished powerhouse act!
"Fighting Gravity" had an interesting concept but this type of black light theater has been done for years from the Black Light Theater of Prague, to traditional Japanese Bunraku puppetry. I started learning Black light/Black Arrt work in '73 working with Sid & Marty Krofft. They always had a black light scene in every show. I created the black light scene called "Slight of Hands" for the "Disappearing Nightly" show at Harrah's Marina in Atlantic City in the early 90's. As with many cases on this show, the "judges" lack of knowledge and background is evident every time they open their mouth about yet another innovative and creative act they've never seen before. They did the same thing this year with the dance team called "Silhouettes" which uses shadow puppetry technique with the human body that was made popular by the Pilobolus Dance Theater. I never mind when the judges say that they did it well but to call it innovative and original just shows their lack of knowledge in so many areas.

Of course some of those acts were intended to be comedy. That doesn't necessarily mean that they were any good, or that the comedy was effective. Even when you are intentionally messing up a trick to be funny, there is a certain smoothness and efficiency of actions that make it work. |

Don't forget that the Pendragons were on AGT. The angle of the camera was quite high and looked down on the trunk lid! Yeek. These guys are pros and you can bet they carefully instructed the camera crew how to properly film their illusion.
Wonder is very necessary in life. When we're little kids, we're filled with wonder for the world - it's fascinating and miraculous. A lot of people lose that. They become cynical and jaded, especially in modern day society. Magic renews that wonder.

They may have, but unless you are one of the contracted acts, I doubt the producers listen or even care about any instructions the acts may provide. There are some people here who have been on the show, perhaps they can offer some insight into this aspect of the show.

The only thing that really bothered me about this clip was the MASSIVE edit that made the end of this routine possible.

People who are on AGT sign a contract not to say anything about the show. Hence, there are a number who have been there, have stories to tell, but cannot; especially in a database where the written material can be used in a lawsuit.

Lol... yes and basically gives them the rights to everything you do... forever! It's very one sided but again, people want the exposure so they do it.
