My hair is uncontrollable. My solution during my thirties was to wear a pony tail. But I started to go gray, and gray pony tails make their wearers look like old dope-smoking hippies, so I cut it SHORT. But I'm tired of wearing a buzz all the time, so I've started to let my hair grow on the top.

But that means I'm back to the problem of hair control. So, today I shaved and showered and got this thought: go grab a bit of my wife's Vaseline and see what happens.

I swear to God: it's better than hairspray, better than hair gel, better than Brylcream, better than anything I've ever used.

Vaseline is the SHIP!

I bet you can use it for other things, too. Smile

I use Rogaine to keep my hair from falling out, it's better than spray or gel. It doesn't have as many uses as Vaseline, though.

Well, I wouldn't recommend Rogaine as a lubricant for certain uses.

Just sayin'.

I don't know if it is around these day's but as a kid I used Butch Wax for my "Flat Top Butch" hair style.
Butch Wax is very much like Vaseline except it has a nice smell and is pink in color (not pink when you wear it).

Not good for "other things", for that I like to use the motor oil when I do an oil change (especialy when still warm).

Have you tried pomade?

Can't buy pomade here.

I wonder if KY jelly would work for hair control.

What did Ronald Reagan use?

For his hair, I mean.

I bet Reagan used pomade. You can't even order it online?

Astroglide is better than Vaseline or KY anyway. Much shinier.

I can't get Astroglide here, either, unless I throw it into my next Fleshlight order. But how many Fleshlights does a guy need?

Anyway, my hair still looks great, five hours after the vaseline application. I'm telling y'all...it's wicked!

What did Elvis use?

I'm so glad my hair sits right without any product - it's on the floor where I threw it earlier and still looks fine.

Stoney,

Vaseline is an oil based product and will destroy your fleshlight - you need to use a water based product, give the fleshlight a wash under cool water after use, and to prolong it's life, pat a little baby powder onto it.

I imagine this leaves you with a rather greasy look.

I struggled with my hair for years. Very thick, very curly.
Finally learnt I needed to work WITH the curls, I know, what a revelation. Generally need to keep it shorter though.

Found a few products that work great, sadly they often stop selling them shortly after I find them.
It's amazing, people will criticize you for "biting the hand that feeds you," while they're busy praising the hand that beats them.

Surprisingly, not at all. I didn't use the whole jar.

Using a fleshlight? Don't judge.

And the answer is 30, one for every day of the (average) month.

Pomade?

Why didn't you just dye your hair instead of cutting it off? I started going grey 2 years ago and have been dying my hair since. I do use hairspray (extra ultra hold) because gel's/oils don't work well in high heat and sandy weather.

My solution is: grow the hair long again, wear lots of Jewelry, sun glasses and look like one of those older guys
I always see in Germany, Italy, etc. who always have a young girl on their arm.

Vaseline is delicious.
Magic is doing improbable things with odd items that, under normal circumstances, would be unnessecary and quite often undesirable.
