I was looking for a new way to reveal a "chosen" (f_r_c_d) card. That's when I came across this nice effect that takes just a small amount of handling. I am excited to put this one into my close-up. I heard about a new release from my new favorite magic creator Bob Solari it is called "TRANZ-DECK". It packs small in my pocket and resets in a second, this along with the new use of this idea to reveal the chosen card is just what I was looking for. After the card is "chosen" (3 of hearts) and returned to the deck the spectator can shuffle the deck as much as they want, they hand the deck back to me, I hold the deck with only two fingers and I put the left deck in my jacket pocket. So far so good, now for the magic. I say I will now reach into my pocket and without looking at the cards I will remove their "chosen" card. I reach into my pocket where the deck was just placed and I remove one card, and with a wave of my hand I say "I have found your chosen card. They say that is not my card, that is a Jack of spades, and it is not my card, I say I think I may need a little help with this and wave my had over the Jack of spades and the Jack turns into a small (little) deck of blue boxed bicycle cards. I open the deck and spread out the cards. There is an invisible deck type of reveal when the cards are spread all of the cards are blue except for one with a red back. I remove the red backed card and ask the spectator to now tell me what their "chosen" card was. They say "the 3 of Hearts" I then turn over the red backed card to reveal the "3 of Hearts", I have received some great reactions. I like this "TRANZ- DECK" by Bob Solari only 10.95, it works for me. You can see it at

A new reveal has just been published by French Independent Author Manuel Magie on my site, in an effect called "Snow Globe" with the e-Book instructions for making it yourself available in both English and French. Basically, you have a card selected and returned to the deck. Then you remove a Snow Globe wrapped in a handkerchief from your pocket and place it on top of the deck of cards to "capture the aura" of the card (or some such magical nonsense). The Snow Globe is shaken to get the snow swirling and the chosen card appears floating in the snow, just long enough to be identified by the spectators, before it vanishes once more. You can also make just the card pips appear floating in the snow rather than a miniature card. It's on my site, for those interested.

There is a trick called stickey fingers. A signed card ends up inside of a Chinese finger trap that you have been wearing the whole time. Actually you have had the traps on all your fingers except your thumb. The signed card part is very clever - you and the helper sort of sign it together to create a mooshed together unique signature. I started to learn it, looks like it should be kinda easy.

Still looking for an interesting reveal? Try "The Most Amazing Card Trick" from The Wizards' Journal #21 on my site. It's the old "card in orange" with a difference. The card (which may be signed) is first torn into tidbits and wrapped up in cellophane tape. Later, when it is found inside a freshly cut open orange (or other fruit) it is unrolled to reveal that it has been "restored" by magically being taped back together again, with the usual torn piece missing... not from a corner, but from the center of the card with a bit of the person's signature still on it. You can also get the companion book so that the trick can be performed following the directions read aloud by a spectator from a "randomly" chosen set of card trick directions printed conveniently in the book. In this way, the trick seems to be impromptu and self-working to the audience.
