Hey, I have created quite a bit of my own material using cards and some coins even. I was wondering is it possible for someone like myself to put out a lecture notes in PDF format? Is there anything special I must do? I would give credit to everyone I learned from, so that wouldn't be a problem. What other steps are there?

1) Perform these effects for a couple years to work out every last detail and see how they play for audiences.
2) Do in-depth research, by reading and asking those more knowlegeable than you for assistance, to see if they really are new. That's a start, and only part of what you need to do before you even begin to think about publishing them.

Chris,
Have you had much feedback on them? Perhaps show them to a respected magician to get some good feedback. If they are impressed there is no reason at all why you shouldn't produce a PDF lecture. Yes, without backing and marketing it may not exactly make you rich, but it will be a contribution to magic and hopefully a good one. The beauty of the Internet and electronic data allows you to publish your own material with little overheads. If your material is good then word of mouth will spread, especially in environments like this. Go for it mate. |
