Lions and Tigers and Bears....OH MY!
I can't give a REAL list, since I am just starting to learn the art of twisting...but thank you VERY much for this thread. It can actually help me to determine which sculptures to concentrate on first. Thanks again!

If you think it will be a problem you can never go wrong with making something easy and active to start. Whenever there is a bounce house at the party I attend I make a crossbow to start and then everyone else wants one to partake in the awesome bounce house battle. It is important to scope out the actual event and have a game plan. Is the party filled with girls mostly? Then start out with something simple and cute. If I want a no fail scenario I toss out a Don Caldwell Ladybug and I don't have to worry about the rest of the day.
But to actually answer your question I would say, Flower Crossbow Frog Ladybug Monkey These make up about 50% of my work on average. |

I usually have at least a button down shirt with dress slacks on, if not a tie. I very often get mistaken for management. It's amazing how many people miss the giant apron full of balloons around my waist. I just point down and say "I'm just the balloon guy, but I can get someone for you."

It is funny that some nights everyone wants the same thing. Could be that the kid saw it and wants one. I guess it is monkey see monkey do. I like the kid who steps out of the norm and asks for something different. Like the kid the other night who wanted a rocket but as a hat. I added flames and smoke coming out of the end.

"What's your least favorite thing to make?"
My honest answer that I give clients, "Whatever the last person asked for." It kills me to make the same thing over and over. Cue Mark B. "I don't do repeats." I know Mark, and I think that's pretty awesome because it tends to stifle my artistic side. I try to talk kids out of repeats. It doesn't always work, do you have a line for that stubborn kid? 6 year old, "I want a butterfly." Me, "I just made a butterfly, you need something new, just for you." 6, "A butterfly." Me, "Come on, think of something original." 6, "A butterfly." Me, "What else do you like?" 6, "Butterflies." Haha. My wife and I joke that I should just make those kinds of balloons worse and worse every time until they are unidentifiable and then maybe they'll stop asking.

There was a commercial running in my local area where a clown was doing balloons. She gave the child a single inflated non-twisted 260. The kid asked what is it? She replied a stick. I use that line when I want the child to hold the balloon, kidding them into thinking that is what they are going to get. The adults get it but the kid has that look on their face of come on is this all I get.

I have a shirt that says "These are the balloon animals I can make: Worm, Snake, Eel." And over every animal is a straight line. I will seriously have parents ask me what I can make after I've been at an event for 2 hours making absurdly complex animals. So I just point to the shirt.
