The other day I was sitting in a restaurant that uses the little paper rings to keep the napkin rolled around the silverware. I just happened to pick up the little paper ring and was playing around with it and I had a thought: Since they are adjustable and stick together with a tacky glue, they would be a great substitute for the leather cone/dollar bill tube for the Stack of Coins effect. This would also work for the Whisper version by Roger Klause. These days, even some nicer restaurants use these little rings so they can be easily found. Just unwrap one from a silverware set, re-size it to the size of coins you are using and have at it. Maybe someone else has already come up with and used this idea (I know I have never seen it), but in any case, I just thought I would offer it as a suggestion. Enjoy!

Are they opaque enough that the coins won't show through? Check them in different types of light with the stack.

There are also other coin effects possible with these, as well as napkin rings of a more solid type, or those made from cloth or plastic. For example, they can be used as mini-cups to transport coins, nuts or dinner mints. Since your finger can go inside in a natuurla manner whi picking them up, effects like Matrix or Chink-a-Ching are possible. The napkin set aside can be used to mask loads and ditches or seque into other effects.

I use solid napkins all the time for different effects, including things coins, sugar packets and even effects using salt. Thanks for pointing that out, Funsway!
@motown: Good question! Most of the ones I have come across and played with are suitable in any lighting situation, and even when you are using a rolled-up bill, you can still have the issue of opacity, depending on the condition of the bill. |

You mite able to use The thing where you use a pencil to push the coins trou the ring ( and it Can steal the gaff at the same time
) You replace the eraser With some stick tack pudy of the same color! And it will steal the gaff out for you! So you are clean before you lift off the ring! I think this was in the nickel saver routine!

That is a great idea too, Dave! Who put out the Nickel Saver? I ask because that sounds familiar to me for some reason and I cannot seem to remember or figure out why...
